E3 thoughts:

-Min Min was the ARMS character. Cool, nice to see spirits are back on the table.
-ARMS 2... still don't know how to feel about that one. We were all expecting it, but not as an open world MMO. It has potential, if nothing else.
-the new Origami King trailer was hype. Wasn't expecting to see the pixls make a return.
-The leakers were right! Star Fox Grand Prix is a thing! That's cool.
-Mario 64, Sunshine, and Galaxy 2 HD look nice! Bit odd they skipped Galaxy 1 though.
-Netflix, Disney+, and HBOmax on switch - nice, but they should've happened earlier.
-Metroid Prime Trilogy is cool and all, but why on 3DS?
-An Avatar: The Last Airbender game by monolith? Absolute highlight of E3.
- Hotel Mario HD?
-Dante's reveal was badass. If we were to get any real life person in Smash, it would obviously be the famous 14th century poet.
- BOTW 2 looks good. Wasn't expecting a genre change to on-rails shooter, but it fits.

All in all? 9/10. Not as good as 2015, but still a pretty good direct.

I mean. Paper Mario.
Sure but for as big as that game is, it’s nowhere near Smash in profitability and marketability. Just look at Jokers presentation. They shadow dropped it and it didn’t pick up the same way future presentations were announced. I imagined they switched to Sakurai doing those and announcing them ahead of time for a good reason. That imo likely related to the market side of things

I'll have to take a closer look to see if anything catches my eye, though I'm tempted to pick up Fire Emblem Warriors.
I also feel tempted to give FE Warriors a try.

I liked Hyrule Warriors and DQ Heroes so maybe I enjoy that one too.
If you liked Hyrule Warriors, then buy Fire Emblem Warriors.

Weird roster aside, I think its a much better and more polished game than Hyule Warriors.

Some quick positives for Fire Emblem Warriors

  • Clone movesets exist but this is done to ensure every moveset is fun to play, no more characters like Agitha that you never want to touch, in FEW I can play every character and have a good time
  • the strategy elements make your allies actually worth a darn, they aren't just liabilities like in Hyrule Warriors
  • supports give even more characterization to the characters, something Hyrule Warriors was imo lacking in for most of its cast
  • NO BIG BOSSES (barring the final boss), the amount of big bosses in Hyrule Warriors killed the pace for me, they were annoying, took forever to kill and for the most part were waiting games, no strategy involved at all, and in the adventure mode, they're everywhere
I love both Zelda and Fire Emblem, but Zelda is a series I've loved since childhood and is one of the series I'm truly passionate about.

I still think Fire Emblem Warriors is the better game.

I'm gonna consider giving Fire Emblem Warriors a chance sometime during winter then!!!!

The positives you bring up do sound really promising.

Fire Emblem warriors actually made me like the Fire Emblem fates cast so that's something.

Damn swamp talking **** about Agitha. She was actually one of my favorites once I learned her play style.

Volga and Impa were really fun too.

She's just not fun to me, which is odd considering I love playing Zant who is consistently called the other worst character in Hyrule Warriors.

Volga and Impa were really fun too.
Oh yeah, they're fun. Impa especially.

Don't get me wrong, I loved Hyrule Warriors but **** Manhandla. That **** was annoying as hell.

Manhandla was annoying as hell. Why can it do THAT much damage in one attack?

It's kind of insane to me.

Been doing a CPU gauntlet to see which P+ characters I jive with the best. Gotta find some chemistry with a few characters.

I'm hoping to get through all 42 characters in 7 days. We are on day 2 now.

Not to mention that pattern was just ridiculously difficult to consistently pull off. IIRC wasn't there a mission where you had to kill two of them with the SPINNER? The SPINNER OF ALL THINGS.

They should, Joker's music list is missing Persona Q music.
Along with a certain other track... Heck, each Fighter's Pass imo came and went without one song I really needed in Smash.

To be fair, the spinner is borked in a fun way.

After learning the patterns, all the bosses became jokes to me. Even Phantom Ganon who is "tennis phase 1, spam bombs wave 2"

Then again I'm more than 100 hours in across all three versions...

But I really dislike having to wait for the specific attack to use the item when the boss spams the same attack over and over again.

So I went for a nap and had to go to the bank under Covid life. It was weird.

How is everyone?

Just give me I Believe, Life Will Change, or Colors Flying High as Smash DLC and I'm happy.

Lol, check this out:

The original demo disc of the game which I had back in the day, the european PS2 release and the 3DS remake.

With these I feel I own all the versions of DQ8 excluding the Android/IOS port (which seems too expensive for me).

DQ8 is the only DQ game I've played.

It's super good.

I think It was the first JRPG I ever played.

I got the demo disc alongside a PS2 given to me by the old son of one of my mother's friends, and I remember playing the demo non-stop back when I was 7 to 9 years old.

Throw Away Your Mask, too.

And I was just listening to Royal's soundtrack and thinking "Man would I kill to have some of these bangers in Smash!", so this post had some great timing lol.

So guys what's everyone doing today?

Spent my morning cleaning my room for once, played Mortal Kombat X and had a phone call with my job support officer.

And I had to go to the bank under somewhat lockdown because I couldn't remember my National insurance Number. And they didn't have it.

Lol, check this out:

1. Checks IOS port.
And this is why I'm against mobile ports of some games. Nothing is better than a controller.

2. What if I told you I traded in my 3DS copy of the game before I joined the forum. Had to get rid of it.

You should play XI S when you can. I got it for my birthday (just can’t open it. My bday is on Friday)
It's on my list of game I'll play eventually.

My backlog is pretty huge right now.

I own DQVIII for 3DS but I had a difficult time getting into it. Think I stopped at the revisit to Trodain Castle.

DQXI S is pretty good but I lost a lot of motivation to continue playing once I reached Act 2. The story and characters (with the exceptions of Sylvando and Erik) weren't really doing much for me.
