I don't know if Darkstalkers would need a reboot per say, but **** it, I take anything as long it's more Darkstalkers.

Ash-Greninja being in Smash is a few steps above just a mention, I'd say.

Geninja's final smash being what it is implies that it is not just an Greninja, but Ash's Greninja specifically.

I always assumed Pikachu was Ash’s Pikachu specifically.

Orange: Crash or Retsuko

Tbh, Crash doesn’t need any fan theory to feel likely right now.

There are actual legit strong points that give those vibes instead:
>Activision wants him in
>Popular both in the West and Japan
>Currently a flagship Activision property due to how great it sells
>Has a good chunk of cool titles on Nintendo systems
>Returned forever around 2017 (same year DQXI released)
>West picks are now highly likely
>Nintendo considers Crash an icon
>The current relationship between Activision and Nintendo is wonderful
>He and Spyro are getting all of their new games on Switch
>Moveset potential
>Cool music to bring in
>Stage potential like the Time Twister from Warped
>Crash vs Sonic vs Mario

Exactly.

The colour theory doesn’t make sense, because there are many picks that could go with orange (Crash, Agumon, Bandana Dee, Daxter, Conker, etc...) and blue (Geno, Wright, Vergil, etc...). It’s silly to find someone likely only based on that.

No, a character is considered likely if they have stuff on their favour outside of these fan theories (which DQ and Banjo had).

Hey so, found this in the KOS-MOS thread:

I was debating on bringing this up or not but since we have been speculating the next fighter is female I thought it would be okay.

So the newest credible rumour is that a female character is next. This guy predicted DQ Hero correctly even before Erdrick was ever speculated/leaked and the most important part is that he guessed correctly that Hero has no female alts.

He's now been posting in English instead of Japanese sometimes... possibly cause his tweets have now gained traction in the west.

Here are some of the tweets from the account with his posts which were before and right after Sakurai finalized dlc with Nintendo.

There could be the possibility KOS-MOS is that female especially if we are talking Namco. When I think "like" a fighting game character I think of lots of moves and similarities. KOS-MOS is similar to Alisa Bosconovitch in Tekken for example. It's all speculation but I believe this rumour is pretty credible. Also, KOS-MOS appeared in Soulcalibur III as a CAS... not necessarily a fighter but it's something.

Other candidates I can think of are Chun-li, a female from Tekken (unlikely due to the movement being difficult to translate to Smash), Mai Shiranui (with that design? Not in my Christian E10+ rated game says Sakurai), Athena Asamiya, or some chick from Dead or Alive
