I'm honestly starting to believe that Coronavirus delayed a direct. Because after Mystery Dungeon DX and Animal Crossing, there's no other 1st party Switch games with a release date, and that isn't good for inverstors nor the company. I'm assuming the virus could have put off production of a direct, or production of games that were coming soon, and the like.

I’m thinking it out out both.

Nintendo’s office is in Japan as are their new building opened for working on games. So considered the population is advised to stay indoors in Japan , there probably isn’t much work being there if at all.

If we don't get a Direct at all this month, then I'll start to believe in this "Coronavirus dipped us of a Direct" notion. We'll see.

I wouldn't think that there's been a "delay", due to the fact that we still haven't gotten an announcement of a new Direct so it's weird to consider a delay being played here.

Why would the coronavirus delay the release of a direct? A pre-recorded video that people would watch in their own homes.

You still need people to

A) Post the announcement
B) setup the feed so it auto-starts at a specific date and time
C) It needs to be finished

That alone is enough, in my eyes, to cause a delay.

I guess delay isn't the right word, but moreso pushed back internally, which I guess would still be more so of a delaying of an announcement. If that makes sense.

So, does anyone actually know how to get Magearna in Pokemon Home? Some people say you need a full living dex, while others, including patch notes, say you only need to complete the national dex. Because all I'm missing in my boxes is Melmetal and I'm not sure if I'm not getting Magearna because of it missing or because it's glitched.

I suppose I'll ask just in case, anyone got a Melmetal I could borrow for a tiny bit?

Your third point is really the only thing I see being an issue, Youtube has an auto posting option, so videos can be set to be posted at a specific tine and date and it now has a premiere function that essentially works as a livestream.

Also, I'm pretty sure most, if not all, Directs are completed months in advance of their announcements. Look at Byleth's reveal, it was recorded in November.

I've heard that cats will show you their belies as a sign of trust, but most still don't like to have since they're weak spots. I don't know how much truth there actually is to that, though.
