So far GimR has my favourite reaction to Byleth: "I don't play Fire Emblem, I'm confused, but this looks awesome!"

I’ve only seen Tom Fawkes reaction to it so far but I think he’s pretty reasonable on the subject.

I really liked Arlo's reaction. Guy just couldn't stop laughing; he just had fun with it.

Failboat and Alpharad were fun to watch too, as they both actually liked the character (Failboat especially because he loves swordies).

Aaronitmar had a pretty good reaction too, and Rogersbase was ecstatic, but I find it kind of annoying that he screams so much.

I don’t know why. Like, it’s not like he was insulting the fans are even yelling. I mean, how would you react when a character is reveal that you really didn’t want? Like, I actually think MY reaction yesterday was WORSE than his.

My problem was that he wasn’t being honest, and made jabs at meaningless things.

I want to go to the alternate universe where youtuber PapaByleth complains for 40 minutes at Geno’s inclusion and says “Oh wow! A forest stage! Really needed that!”

Also he kept wording things like I spoke for the whole community, saying things like “the worst possible inclusion” and “Nobody wanted this.”
Multiple times he brought up how he had a friend who loved Three Houses and he would probably hate Byleth in Smash. In saying that, he is trying to imply that Three Houses fans in general don’t like Byleth in Smash.

It just came across as entitled and snobby. Even he acknowledged that he got Banjo and shouldn’t be mad, but was anyway. Sakurai have us Ridley, K. Rool, and Banjo. He can put in another Fire Emblem character he is very visibly excited about.

MUA3 got my brain messed up. I went into DMC5 and got 3 missions done(4 if you count the prologue), but I keep breaking my Robot arms with Nero. That's because it's the dodge/block button for MUA3 on a Switch controller. It's one of those habit things I need to break, since you dodgeroll with the jump button, and I can do that fairly well. I feel like I'm doing slightly better than when I played DMC4 all those years ago. I can at least clear most of a level without getting hit. The only times I do are usually during poorly timed taunts or during bosses and I get greedy.

DMC5's a challenge for sure, but I started get the hang of it, since it's been so long and Nero's got so much new tech. I'll see what V can do soon. Or rather how well I do it.

Just got from Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. It wasn't perfect but I was entertained.

Now all I need to see is Solo and then I've watched all major Star Wars films.

Look. I don’t want to talk about this any more. I feel like I have reasons for not liking Byleth that go beyond personal preference. And I think that you can at least make an argument that it was a bit of a bad descision. I admit I overreacted yesterday. And I admit he overreacted in his video. But what didn’t help me come to that realization was hearing people who shared my opinions be called Winey entitled man children and get compared to nazis. And this mentality has always been here. It was there in Steve vs Banjo for example. And the fact that it’s always existed is why people like me and him lost it yesterday. Our opinions were forced to become extreme by the hostile nature of the speculation climate. And I have likely made other people’s opinions more extreme with some of my comments (I used to be super toxic about the idea of Steve getting in over Banjo). I can and will try to mitigate my own behavior. But I think we all need to agree to fix the environment surrounding Fire Emblem and other “controversial” Smash picks. People are aloud to not like a character, and to think including them was a bad descision. That doesn’t make you or your opinions any less valid and shouldn’t ruin your day. Don’t let one guy’s frustrated venting ruin your own hype and excitement. And I’m saying this to myself too because I fully acknowledge I have engaged in this toxic behavior as well.

And that’s all I have to say on the matter.

It happened to me when I first tried to play smash with a pro controller and not the two joycons. The shape if the controller was triggering my PlayStation All-Stars reflexes instead of my Smash ones.

Yeah, I saw someone talking about how the reaction was disappointing on Reddit. Like, it certainly wasn't excitement to the degree of Banjo or Joker, but overall people were happy, and they enjoyed it. That's what matters.

Yeah. It was a bit quieter than some of the other reveals, but there were plenty of excited people from what I could tell. Though you did have those dudes who said "YES!" to "Are you ready to die?"

Like who? Spirit Boards I get. And those wouldn’t probably come with them (I doubt a png would change the price of a costume when a song doesn’t). But Teddie? Yu? Makoto? The Martial Artist? Erdrick? Goemon? Team Rocket? Sans? Jacky? Altaïr? Rabbids? Cuphead? How many of those guys don’t already have art assets? I could probably find a transparent png or at least an image with a white background for each of these guys right now.

There's tons of reasons. We don't know how closely he works with each company involved with Smash. And since he's worked with IS since Melee, he's probably more familiar with than with Monolith. But we won't know unless it's brought up in some interview. It's not like any company has to let him in on their work.

While it's a shame to see you leave, I can totally understand you not wanting to dedicate any more time to a place that offers you nothing in return but petty arguments that are regurgitated on a daily basis. I plan to stick out this new speculation period for a little while longer but even I'm beginning to approach my limit.
