Yeah, all in all this is a good price unless you believe they saved the 200+ old pokemon specifically for DLC, the way Capcom used to withhold content on the disc to sell to you later. I don't believe that's the case, so strictly looking at it monetarily, it's a reasonable asking price.

Pokemon games have been $40 since the DS, with Pearl/Diamond releasing over 12 years ago. With that in mind:

Pearl: $40
Platinum: $40
$80 Total

Sword: $60
Expansion Pass: $30
$90 Total

When you account for inflation over the course of over a decade, plus the addition of full 3D modeling rather than sprite work, I'd say the price is absolutely consistent.


What people will argue is whether the value of the game's content has lowered, but they'll be arguing about price because they're idiots.

Hot Take: TPC is Japan's EA and the announced DLC for Sword/Shield proved it to me. While Smash Ultimate, Breath of The Wild, Xenoblades 2 etc has paid DLC, their base games were actually COMPLETE and the DLC felt more like a local restuarant's desert rather than the other half of a dinner meal you thought you paid for full but you have to pay extra for.

I feel Pokemon needs to buff ice pokemon. Its really weird that a pokemon with a quad weakness to ice is this troubling to deal with.

That's not even the full scene. They keep going for about twice as long as that, then Leon shows up on a motorcycle from inside the elevator, which he drives across the top of the building to throw it off the edge at a Tyrant hanging off a helicopter so he can shoot the gas tank and explode it.


Everybody ever should watch this movie.

Stride is broken and can allow you to finish any map with "defeat the enemy commander" in one turn if you build your team right. You don't really need to level up anyone but your boss killer for those maps.

All the Resident Evil CGI movies are worth a watch for their campy action (I riffed the first one if you ever saw that), but Vendetta is, like, a whole different level of gloriously stupid.

You never used Stride? Hoo boy.

It's an E-rank gambit that allows a whole block of your team to move five extra spaces. It makes the game a lot easier to be offensive when you get it, which is fairly early on.
