You mean FF7R? I doubt that. That's a game too many people have been waiting for years now. Although, how much of a flop it'd be will depend on it's budget and how well they bother to market it outside of the internet. It'll be on PC as well. Systems themselves do sell well the same way new iPhones do. But with consoles, it's normally better to wait until a newer rendition of that system is out like PS4 Pro or something.

I think the hardest sell for the new consoles is to explain WHY players should upgrade if they don't have some real heat launch titles. This upcoming gen isn't about visual upgrades but performance, something that can be "felt" but not so easily seen from the get.

Keep in mind the PS4 is actually a popular system, it's not the Wii-U where there's not much of an install base. Hell, even the Gamecube was better about this.

Ok then. I still have my doubts though.

I’m only upgrading to the next gen when interesting games come out for it. I’m not just gonna drop $600 on a fancy box that just sits there.

And I’m NOT buying game pass and I’m NOT buying their ****ing streaming service and I’m STILL NOT paying for online. Say it with me now. Subscriptions. Are. Scams.

I can understand that, but I do believe things are a bit more in the favor of FF7R on PS4 compared to BotW on Wii-U at the very least.

TL;DR, guy steals my Plush Baby port and removes my name from the file then re-uploads it. Tries to justify his actions and decides to make the situation public and “expose” me for no reason as far as I’m aware, tells me to go to hell, and then all his fans join him without the full context and proceed to insult me as well.

True, but the larger install base of the PS4 means that people might be willing to put down the money for that, rather than a new system.

Since all the PS4 games are backwards compatible with the PS5, or should be, there's also a chance that FF7R will only release on PS4, but work on PS5 with better performance. While the next parts of FF7R could be exclusive to the newer consoles due to space. Hard to say right away. I'm mostly going with a gut feeling. Both PS versions of the game will likely do fine. This is a game that's enough hype behind it to garner some decent sales.

Then there's the PC version, which probably will have less issues to deal with since all you need is a Steam account.

There is no way this game is still being done in parts. They’re charging full price for a physical edition with TWO discs. No WAY it’s episodic.

Wait..... WHAT!?! How many episodes!?! This game could cost me $200!?!

Like, escaping Midgar isn’t even The end of Disc 1 in the OG. So how far is the thing gonna be stretched? Plus, there’s always the possibility it could get canceled before they finish it.
