Ok I’ve been thinking and I’ve come to a conclusion:
Out of all of the indies in the world, FNAF is the Minecraft option out of all of them, meaning it’s the most popular.
Say what you will about the franchise, but you can’t deny it’s popularity, it has like 9 games, a great future, a potential Movie Trilogy and a bunch of Funkos. Shantae, Shovel Knight and Quote don’t even have one.(Unfortunately)
This doesn’t mean that FNAF is most likely for smash and that the other options suck, I just think people sometimes undermine how popular and influential FNAF really is sometimes.

It wouldn't be such a bad thing if fnaf got some kind of representation in smash, maybe a spirit event or something. Most of the big indies have gotten something by now.

Yeah I’d be fine with spirits and a Freddy costume, I would love a character but at this point I just want fnaf to be recognized in smash.

Disagree, I would say that it would be close, but just below Undertale.

like seriously, the game quite literally boomed overnight, has a fair amount of merch, still has a active community despite the original game being a one-and-done game(unlike games like TF2 where the community revolves around the multiplayer aspect) and already has content in Smash()
