My biggest issue with E3 this year, despite being hyped by parts of Microsoft and Bethesda, is that some of these devs aren’t innovating in any particularly interesting way.

Open world games are great. However, it’s not enough to say, “this game is an open world” when pretty literally every big game is open world. Or at least a large chunk. That doesn’t get me excited anymore.

When you see conferences and 90% of the games shown off are shooters, I can see why that gets boring too. It’s fundamentally the same gameplay with added perks. It’s the same old, same old.

Ironically, Halo and Gears were probably the games I cared most about from Microsoft, and DOOM from Bethesda. But everything else kinda just sits there and does nothing for me.

Granted, that’s why I shrug when there’s an abundance of swearing or cringe badassery. It’s over done now and isn’t new, so for me it simply isn’t interesting anymore.

Haven’t caught Ubi yet, but i’ll have to take a look.

Not gonna lie the one thing I REALLY want from the Ubisoft conference is a new Splinter Cell. I couldn't care less about basically everything else. Pretty sure Assassin's Creed is taking a year off so that's nice to know.

I'm keeping my expectations in regards to Banjo at a minimum.


At this point, the only thing he really has going for him is Shinobi, that's it, and while I don't doubt Shinobi's track record, allow me to be skeptical here since Nintendo's E3 is so tight lipped right now.

Even though I've been vocal with my opinion about not wanting Banjo, I've gotta admit, it'll really stink for his fans if this rumor doesn't pull through. Found myself in a similar position a year ago with Ridley, and the feeling I got when he was announced was unlike any other experience I've had at E3.

If I can't support the character, I can at least support the fans.

The minute I saw extremist-run Britain I made a joke saying the game is called “Brexit: Aftermath.” Was a bit of a meme, not actually expecting they’d make a game implying Britain would become a dystopian future if Brexit happened.
