MainJPW MainJPW I don't know if you remember the old SEGA Forum or were even a member back then, but they actually had a developer from SUMO Digital who used to post there and give updates on Transformed.

'Twas not a fun day for him when Ristar was revealed to be the flagman lol.
I remember stalking that place for DLC info. Sadly both All-Stars racing games were pretty underwhelming in that regard. Ecco and Miku were brought up quite often from what I remember.

We get ****ing Danica Patrick but can't get some classic SEGA characters LMAO.
I wouldn't even mind this stupid inclusion if it wasn't for the fact we even lost Sega characters, like Opa-Opa, Akira & Jacky, Bonanza Bros., ChuChus and Zobio & Zobiko. Even Big, a Sonic character got the shaft. Quite a few of the newcomers were underwhelming, too, being basically just reskins with altered stats, like Gum, MeeMee and Reala, who all drive the same cars as their counterparts (Beat, AiAi and NiGHTS).

The roster just felt like a downgrade to me, but at least we got NiGHTS (even if only as a car), Vyse and the Daytona Hornet, who were strange exclusions from the first game..

My only real gripe with Transformed is that the roster was a pretty big downgrade from the first one in terms of retro SEGA representation. Sure, we got some great new additions like Vyse, Joe Musashi, and AGES, but they had to cut a bunch of the more retro characters like the ChuChus, Bonanza Bros, and Opa-Opa and replace them with characters from Superstar's Tennis.

Oh, and Danica Patrick and Wreck-It Ralph didn't need to be there.
Heh, I just said the same. I missed especially the zombie duo, as I used them the most. The Virtua Fighter duo in the OutRun car was also a nice 2-1 reference. Though at least Transformed had an OutRun track, so... it's something, I guess.

I'm not a huge SEGA head, but getting a bunch of Youtubers in your company crossover game sucks. I wouldn't want Mario Kart to meme it up and add Let's Players.

Also, bring justice for my man Vector Man. Those games were fun.

Ristar being the flagman has the same energy as Cream being the referee or flagwoman because we ****ing want them as playable characters SEGA.

On the other hand the track choices were incredible

Panzer Dragoon, Burning Rangers, and Skies Of Arcadia getting tracks was fascinating

Is Cream even still around outside of the Mario & Sonic Olympic games? Feels like an eternity since I last saw her in a game.

I believe her last appearance in the main games was in Generations while overall it was maybe the Riders series?

That I agree on, I especially liked how some tracks changed during the race, with Rogue's Landing being one of the more extreme examples. They definitely were the game's highlight.

I just wish we got a larger selection of characters, I’m sure there could be a way to make sure they’d all be in a proper team of Speed, Power and Tech.

I have pretty fond memories of playing through Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing on my old Xbox 360. Though, I only managed to get that game was by trading in a copy of Transformed, the only reason I did that was mainly because I couldn't get through certain missions in the single-player mode.

...Yeah, I didn't exactly know better back then.

Yes, because Sonic Heroes already established four teams that should be a universal standard by now but for sone reason it's either Vector, Espio, or bust and Cream has been omitted for a while. Maybe it's because Charmy and Cream are children that they can't compete (though apparently Chao are more qualified) but that's no excuse for Espio to be missing. If they really needed someone for the Power with Silver and Blaze, why not bring Marine in? Hell, even Sticks. Then of course you have the Babylon Rogues and then Fang, Bark, and Bean. Mighty and Ray could have Sticks or Marine for whoever isn't paired with Silver and Blaze. And replace Zavok with Infinite for Eggman's team.

Out of curiosity, is this a legitimate fan game you are planning or are you just listing them all for fun?
I don’t have the means to make a fan game and I’m kinda approaching this idea as if it were an official game, that’s how I’ve approached most of my ideas involving existing properties.

It would be cool if I could turn any of my ideas into actual fangames. I have a basic knowledge of 3D modeling and coding I just never have the time. Nintendo would probably shut em down for copyright anyway lol.

Speaking of Ryo, it was ******* inexcusable how he was exclusive to the PC version of Transformed. Way to alienate the people who bought the game on another platform, SEGA...

Riders is difficult, but underrated and fun <3

I tri-mained Tails, Shadow, and Eggman.
I loved Riders. I played the Sega courses over and over, mostly the Carnival one. Unlocking Super Sonic felt pretty satisfying, too.

We couldn't even get new SEGA characters but we got some youtubers. Bayonetta literally topped the ****ing polls SEGA made last I checked
The money made from the Youtuber DLC went entirely towards charity, going by the description on the Steam page.

Yogscast, the UK’s most watched YouTube channel, run an annual charity drive for the month of December. This year, they are teaming up with SEGA and taking the drive to the next level in a race against the fastest Hedgehog in the world. The Yogscast’s very own Simon Lane, aka Honeydew, is now available as a brand new DLC character in Sonic & All-Stars Racing Transformed™ with 100% of all SEGA and Yogscast proceeds being donated to the SpecialEffect charity.
I'm not sure about the justification that they couldn't make Bayonetta work in a game that's rated E10, considering that the Smash team was able to pull it off, but that's the explanation that we got from what I recall.

This talk of fan games has inspired me to look through my old Roblox creations. Before I quit Roblox I was working on a port of scooby doo night of 100 frights with new bosses and a buncha other new stuff. I got pretty far too, had all the enemies programmed and a good chunk of early levels done. Too bad Roblox and their pointless updates continuously screwed me over.
