However, if that really is the case, then I might just have to shut down my account entirely here.

All I can say is that I disagree. I never got "big stick monkey" from Grookey. I just got "monkey with stick". The added rhythm to it's reveal helpped pretty much everyone figure out the drumming thing. I simply went in a different direction than the obvious one that still makes sense and looks like it's actually from the same line. It's just, the design I like more.

Honestly, Buddyfight's plots up until Ace(the last season atm) tend to involve universe level threats(because each of these "Worlds" are actually alternate dimensions)

For example:
Season 1 had a bunch of nobodies try and summon a god from a previously-though-to-be-dead-world just because 4 years ago goverments didn't do anything against a disaster, uniquely called, "Disaster"

Then you have the giant centipide literally eating worlds, being sealed, being UNSEALED by a kid who was tricked by a skeleton. who then has to seal em again(and then they become good, somehow)

Then Season 3 involves a 1000000 year old feud between 2 sun deitys, with one of em being reincarnated and once again, literal nobody comes along and absorbs his Sun Deity and becomes GOD temporally. Oh yeah, and some dumb **** about controlling all of the draguns ever.

yeah, Buddyfight had some weird plots early on, lmao.

You're close enough honestly, quite literally at that.

One thing I will say about the anime thou: Ace(the current last series) really kicks up the plot to the max.

I won't go into spoilers, but the most I can say is that the show deals with one of the MCS becoming the villain out of.. of all things... jealousy and depression. (something the other seasons pretty much never mentioned, let alone used as a plot point)
