I still think the best thing for them to do is allow GameFreak to design the new Pokémon each gen and then hand off the actual development to Square Enix. Or maybe have GameFreak be absorbed into Square (Just using Square as an example, any company would theoretically work). Cause GameFreak just aren’t good at programming. They’re very sloppy and lack efficiency in their coding. It’s sad, but it’s true.

I'm not comfortable with a scenario like this that would likely cause many jobs lost. GameFreak doesn't need to be absorbed or shortchanged. They need new management, help and guidance with HD development. They've made great games before and they can do it again. GameFreak should work together with a studio like Monolith Soft.

It's mindblowing that the team behind Persona 5 is around 70 people.

Of course, they got some outside help, but it's still such a small number for such a big title.

Persona 5 had a ton of delays but the final product ended up being fantastic and a worthy successor to Persona 3/4. They didn't have to compromise so many assets/shorten the campaign because of being the first HD game. It shouldn't happen with Pokemon either.

I still have that guide from 10 years ago, or something like that. And I always found the attempt at Yoshi equal parts impressive and hilarious.
