If I have to take CLASSES about what makes good comedy, then I’m not gonna let memes slide.

It’s lazy comedy. Comedy takes work. Being funny takes intelligence and planning. You can’t just reference something and get people calling you hilarious. You need to do more than quote something in a slightly modified picture.

Lazy comedy can be funny, but it can also get cliché and predictable. One of the elements of a good joke is the surprise. If you keep hearing variations of the exact same joke, there's nothing surprising.

The Ricky Gervais show was actually about his friend Karl, a weird man with the funniest things to say. They would just sit him down, ask him questions, and listen to him ramble on and on about strange opinions. It’s one of my favorite things.

As a tired college student, memes are the only thing keepijg me connected to people.

But the only reason Bowsette would have been in a position for you to think they're worthy of Nintendo's acknowledgement in the first place is because of memes. The comic alone didn't propel her.

While memes certainty aren't hilarious in any sort of way. They are still comedic.

They're a quick and easy way to make someone chuckle or brighten them up. You shouldn't have to spend a while planning to make a quick laugh.
They certainly aren't qualified for being used to make money, but they serve they're purpose of being a quick and easy laugh.

Didn't SnakeFighter64 say she hated Nintendo?(or something similar) So, literally the only reason she would like Bowsette is because it's FUNNY. Never mind the fact that almost all memes can be funny(but not all are)
