Look I honestly don’t give a **** about Doomguy. Don’t really want him in Smash either.

But calling him a meme is... literally the worst argument I’ve heard against him.

Violence can be toned down. If there’s anyone that can faithfully adapt a character into the style of Smash, it’s Sakurai.

And being a super serious series (which many people have pointed out that DOOM isn’t), isn’t really an excuse either.

If you’re a video game character with a decent legacy/popularity, you can get into Smash.

He is more of a meme pick then a meme character. I can clarify that. People would and were suggesting hin in the past because it was obtuse. A non normal character chosen to shock.

The thing is: Doomguy has stuff going strongly on his favour.

Stuff such as Bethesda’s huge relationship with Nintendo right now, the fact we actually got every Doom game on Switch, the japanese marketing for Eternal, Sakurai’s claims about the stuff Doom’s creator brought to the industry, his moveset potential, his legacy status and more points make the idea of Doomguy getting in Ultimate strongly plausible overall.

I may feel that Doomguy’s chances are overhyped by the hardcore sides of the Doom and Smash fanbase since many people take the dangerous mentallity of considering Doomguy a character who will completely happen (a mentallity that backfired a lot for anyone who used to support Shadow as I did).... but he does have stuff going for him that makes him worth to debate.

Well, I think at this point I'm done with Overwatch. I really don't like the forced 2-2-2 meta even in Quickplay. And classic QP is now taking up yet another slot in the Arcade. They should've left QP alone and just implement it for Competitive.

Maybe have a FF world for the first time ever? For a game based around FF x Disney, literally none of the worlds in any game is even loosely based on a FF game. While we have an abundance of Disney Worlds.
