Its called "having the authentic experience" and what you said sounded a bit Was rude to those who DO Do that.
I know I would drive to Dave and Busters for that Mario Kart DX Arcade game.

I THINK Dave and Busters has it
I know it sounded mean, but I'm a very busy person. I don't have the time. I did go to E3 once, which was fun, but I don't see myself going back.

I could care less for Arcade games. I shouldn't have to drive twelve miles just to play a game, that's just so incredibly stupid.
It's really not that bad, More about the Social experience for me to meet new people. I know online gaming can do that but that is don't as fun as seeing the person face.

Back in the 80's, a lot of people (including my father) played games just like that.

In Japan, arcades are very much alive, unlike the Western countries.

Way to disrespect the classics, boy! How can you call yourself a player if you shamelessly shun the classics like that!!

A lot of Smash Bros. content comes from those very games, you know. The first Donkey Kong game, Mario Bros., Punch-Out!!, Pac-Man and several others.

Even I have once played Street Fighter EX at a genuine arcade machine. I think it was in France. Or was it Spain? Can't remember. Oh well, the point still stands.

Future is dependent on the present that quickly becomes past. If one cannot respect the past, one cannot look into the future.

sadly, I think when I was born, arcades were long gone. Makes me sad

I have been to Pax Prime before if that counts. I remember pretty well because that's where I met Josh Jepson.

I don't "Not Enjoy" them, Frosty, I just never have time to go down to an arcade since I'm in college.

Long story short : without arcades, video games would never have been like today.

My dad is trying to create an arcade machine with an emulator on a Xbox. Arcade machines are awesome.

Speaking of arcade games...
(Warning: flashing images.)

So who thought this was a good idea? (And yes, this is real.)

So you didn't know Sega also made F-Zero GX?

and what's this? An arcade machine?
Captain Falcon's GX/AX theme confirmed best song in the game.

It's obvious but I don't care.

I'd love to go to a Dave & Busters or an all out arcade. I miss it. Guitar Hero and Blazblue were my jam!

Same here. I was born in 1993. Arcades had long dwindled here.

However, I know a few places close to highways (what we call "service areas" that are basically stops where travelers can have meals, buy something, go to restrooms and such) that still have arcade machines dating back to the 90's.

Long story short : without arcades, video games would never have been like today.
Indeed!

Looks like I need to travel out of Virginia beach for one. Although...Mario Kart Arcade GP DX is first on my list to play

The D&B in Tempe, AZ had it and so did the arcade I frequented to at the mall (Gameworks). It had Blazblue, Tekken, MvC, Street Fighter, and all the classic games.

Since Sega went under I wonder if Gameworks will survive... I don't live in AZ anymore so I won't ever know.

I've never been too interested in arcade machines. There were a few close to my home, but all were Street Fighter, Tekken and some racing games. I wasn't into traditional fighters so I never knew what the hell I was doing. :p

I was primarily a PC gamer back then.

Speaking of arcades, I'll like to go to one in japan to see how it like there.

This. This is why I want the ability to capture the photos of your Pokemon after doing that puzzle minigame in Pokemon Amie. (Or maybe there's a way and I don't know it yet. :v)

This is priceless; Smug Charmeleon. :4villager:

I own a Tekken 3 arcade machine. Best thing about it is I got it for $300, which is way cheaper than it should've been.

I've went to play some arcade games over the years, but now I don't for some reason. Maybe sometime I will go back to it.

I guess there are three mods watching, because the bottom thingie says there are 10 people on the thread, but it only lists seven...
