Morning, Smashboards. My college schedule is set in a way I get free wednesdays.

At the cost of saturdays though.

Anyway, anything new?

GG @ WolfieXVII ❂ WolfieXVII ❂ , it was fun. I was playing with the Wii U Gamepad since my Wiimote (who basically is my Gamecube controller adapter) died during the match. I still managed to destroy your Kirby and Link near the end though.

Anyway, GG.

Just a random deep thought. I'm getting extremely sick of waiting for GCN games on Virtual Console.
Well, they proved they can because wii digital = they can make gc games.

Now, honestly for myself, I have no benefits because I own so much material copies, but let's be honest, TTYD on VC is going to be the best thing ever because it makes the game more accessible.

Like, now, I can't wait to have spm on VC altough, I have a material copy. I can't wait because people would have a better reasons to actually play spm and considering how underratewd it is, it's just awesome.

Currently, you could pay a copy of TTYD for between 40 - 50 bucks which honestly is like the half of what i consider its value since it's THAT good, but the problem is first, you need a GC and not everyone has it which could cost like 50$, but paying 40$ for the game alone can make some people have a sad face.

So, it would cost 90$ to play TTYD alone, but because it includes the GC, it`s BY FAR affordable since GC is imo the best system ever.

but now, you would only pay I would guess the price with a huge discount. So, if I were to guess, 20-30$ would be good for a GC vc game, but it honestly is likely to get to like 10-15$.

Having a game like spm which was part of the select group just makes this even better as it would cost way less than a regular wii game, but here's the awesome thing: TTYD was a player choice game.

Meaning that even though I would not buy these EXCEPT TTYD for very special reasons you're already aware of, I just can't wait. I found the series to be underloved so improving accessibility is a good thing, but also another thing.

TTYD has stuff that so far, I never saw again in any other games that honestly, I think nintendo should refference how awesome this series is more. For example, we believe in you mario should have at least been refferenced once because this music....I could hours about it but it's mindblowing how much powerful it is.

So, rereleasing TTYD would b e the minimal acknowledgment it would deserve. You may argue that the repping in ssb is kind of doing it, but it's only the start because if you think about it, the series is just refered like any other series would, I just want to see them refference the awesomeness in it which ssb does more or less. It's nice to see general refference especially the ch3 on the yoshi trophies, but it's just not enough. I applaud this start and I'm happy with it, but it just needs to go a bit further.

Vc rerelease is honestly the minimum because even if they don't refference it much, people can have at least the chnace to realise it by themselves.

How? It's just common sense to believe sonic would only be in Mario Kart as a guest just like Link and R.O.B.
Just joking mate, maybe on a future not far...
I suppose some opinions are supposed to be unpopular. :troll:
I really had no gripes with a roster on mario kart 8(just the half-*** battle mode),but recently this problem started to glancing on my head, while I have no problems adding some guests,it seems this direction it's been taken because the mario kart team thinks there is "no good" mario characters left to be added on a mario spin-off,I mean sure some characters are just regular enemies and NPC's,but the own mario kart team are overlooking them, dry bones is a regular enemy with tons of fans, birdo is really a weird character but it has it's fans too.
But seeing how they handled the situation on the last 2 games is just sad...
On mario kart 7 they cutted waluigi and dry bones in favor of a useless NPC like honeyqueen and a metallic skin of mario, while shy guy and lakitu were good calls,an wigler was so-so,this was just the beggining, but many let pass since the limitations.
On Mario kart 8 it was worse they returned waluigi but left out other characters, while the koopaling sure has their fans,it was high price for making 7 characters and pleasing one fanbase(and jerking on bowser jr. fans),but the non-canon characters like pink golden peach and baby rosalina (the latter for just destroying the background of the character) was too much to handle,on the DLCs the only veteran is dry bowser the others mario characters were skins with different stats.
Mario kart wii still the best choices of a roster for me,only having the flaws of the lack of petey piranha and shy guy,but still they knew what they were doing when they added a character recently pushed in the series(rosalina),a character from another one(funky kong)and kept most of the veterans.
But on mk8 they just said: "screw it",it's like there is no fans for DK characters,no fans of E.gad,Nabbit,or even wario characters.
They didn't even tried.
While characters from another series could give a fresh air to the franchise, they are still ignoring the most common long time requests, while many speculate on a "super smash kart",we have to deal with fan bases rants like this:

now that I think about it:

Silly idea time!!!

What about Paper Mario in mario kart?

There, I know it's silly, but if I think about it, the only problem is seeing its back because.....it's complicated....

I wouldn't be opposed to seeing Nabbit in Mario Kart, seeing as how the little ******* is popping up everywhere recently anyway.
Also I've come to accept the fact that my sleep schedule is completely ****ed, which is not good considering I start my new job next month.

that's actually not really a joke because that was the issue I was pointing at :)

See, you normally only see his right or left profile because....paper has 2 sides. The problem is if you try to view the other dimmesnsion in front of you....it gives a vertical lines....

And the problem with mk is you mostly see characters from the back.

HOWEVER, it is possible to sort of cheat.

I don't have my spm files, but there's a stylish pose when Paper Mario back can be completely seen with arms in the air.

So, it's possible, but they would have to sort of do....gorgeous stuff with the animation, but that's required everytime you want to depict him so :)

So much talk for only Mario Kart.
But you're right on one point : the roster of Mario Kart 8 makes me want to vomit. But they don't really care, it's just a spinoff game. They can add any sh**** character in it, they don't care since it's not official.

Oh yeah, also, unpopular opinion : I don't like Mario Kart. I have the Wii U one only in a pack.
And I only play Waluigi and Daisy in this game anyway.

I have been reading some of the previous posts on this thread.

Here's how it is:
Everyone loses to Diddy in Smash 4. I mean the character is so boring and straightforward that it made his design boring. Down throw UAir is the reason everyone complains about this thing. Bananas mean free grabs unless you block them with a shield which Diddy will take advantage of with his fast grab (frame 6 if I remember correctly).

If you respect him too much, he'll be easily unbeatable and then more people complain. He wins the neutral game, he combos, he KOs... what can't he do? Side B seems laggy material to me honestly. Yes, it has priority (meaning it will hit first most of the time), but it just seems laggy. Meh. He has good options out of a perfect pivot too (down tilt, down smash, up tilt), etc.

In Brawl, you had to work pretty hard to win with Diddy. UAir didn't mean "you are done", he had 2 bananas instead of one, which meant stage control; I'm pretty sure his Neutral B was much, much faster than in Smash 4 and most importantly, down throw in Brawl didn't lead to 3 UAirs like in Smash 4. You basically had to be skilled in order to win with him. His gameplan was and still is 100% more interesting than in Smash 4. Oh well, too bad they couldn't bring back Brawl Diddy.

Smash 4 Diddy feels sluggish to me. Dunno why though. Eh.

Also yes, Sheik is much more balanced than Diddy and while she can't KO early, her fast moves make up for that.

Anyways hi. Mario Kart talk eh? Can we talk about competitiv----never mind. Characters.

Heh, I didn't know the author of Psyren had other works
I'm guessing it's Ageha
Not surprising to see World Trigger at the bottom though
Kagamidori is actual the Psyren author's new work and it will debute in next week's issue. I for one actually hope that it will be well received in the East since Psyren didn't really deserve to be cancelled.

As for that Ageha reference, I saw what you did there. :smirk:

The thing that makes me want to puke is how the guys who play him defend Diddy while they clearly know how everyone hate this monkey. When I hear M2K or ZeRo saying "Diddy ain't number one, you can DI out of his Hooh Hah, Sheik is better", it just seems that he want to save his top tier from the ban hammer that will come on the face of this poor monkey. Yes, you can DI out of it, but when you can just press two buttons and get a kill, I don't call it balanced. Heck, even Melee Fox is more balanced than that. Diddy just profits of the engine like Fox did. The difference is, you need to be good to play Fox, not Diddy.

Long story short : Diddy is too easy and rewarding for any player. That's why everyone hates him.

"You can DI out of the Hoo Hah" is the excuse of Diddy players to make their main look hard to play. It seems that they don't know how hard it is for :4mario: or :4sheik: to actually K.O in this game, while this stupid monkey just needs a grab and an Uair to have the K.O with ease.

Yeah, Smash 4 is a balanced game totally original in it's combos compared to Melee who is just so unbalanced. Look, Fox does the same thing has Diddy, it's normal to see this in Smash 4, a game that calls itself "balanced".

:4diddy:, or how to make Smash 4 players regret the release of Donkey Kong Country on the SNES.

Hey, I see Jessie is having trouble dealing with :4yoshi:'s grab/ neutral :GCB:. She better call the monkey from Toy Story 3 to do a "HOO HAH"! :troll:

Or they could use digitized sprites like in Mario Kart 64.

So what's going on with you guys?
Lookin' at Gamergate controversy and still don't understand it.
My mind doesn't understand human stupidity and fights enough I guess.

But let's not talk about this. I prefer to rant on monkeys than talking about a thing that I don't understand.
