Yeah, Pokemon movies aren't that... well, like you said, prefect. I like some themes that are reinforced in the first movie. And there are some memorable quotes, such as the famous, "I see now that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant; it is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are." and when Meowth says, "You're right, we do have a lot in common. The same earth, the same air, the same sky. Maybe if we started looking at what's the same... instead of always looking at what's different, who knows?" Never knew that cat can be this deep. But yeah, there's still some flaws. At the very least, I enjoy the movies more than the anime haha.And now we are watching the controversial Pokemon: The Movie review just to see how many flaws the film had to begin with. Then again, most Pokemon movies were never perfect to begin with. *raises flame shield*
My fave Pokemon movie that I've seen is probably Jirachi Wish Maker from a presentation and thematic point of view (even though it still has its flaws).
