I said goodbye to my 6th graders. They will graduate to 7th grade next Tuesday but, sadly, I don't teach to at the junior high school that they will graduate into so it was my last class with them.

Sad Venus is sad.

Pretty soon, my wife and I will be meeting a health insurance repressive so we can get insured. We are also working on our wills. Heavy stuff.

I've had Smash4 for about six weeks now and I reeeally need to find someone to play with. I moved to a new city just ten weeks ago, and I don't know anyone around where I live. I feel like I have pretty decent play but I constantly die to jank/cheese that could easily be avoided if I could just sit down with a more experienced player for an hour or two and just get a few pointers.

Going to be first year junior highers? While in elementary, are they more attentive to learning English?

Elementary English is focused on having fun and playing games along with projects and listening activities.

Junior high English gets serious with tests, exams, drills, grammar, vocabulary, phonics, and recitation. It's been known to completely destroy some students interest (confidence) in English. It's basically baptism by fire.

It looks like a beefed up Dimetrodon now. For whatever reason, I think it makes more sense though, given that sail on its back and the crocodile-like head.

But yeah, it took a step back in coolness.

No, a specimen of an apatosaurus was thought to be its own genus. Though scientific consensus was that it was just an apatosaurus. Unfortunately it took so long for the mistake to be corrected that brontosaurus still gets widely used today even though there is no such dinosaur. At best brontosaurus is just a synonym for apatosaurus but it is not suitable for formal discussion.
