I think people are just upset about the wasted potential. I like Ganon as he is right now as well, but there is so much more that could be done with him other than making him a semi-clone.

I'm well aware of that and I do acknowledge that fact, however, I'm not too bothered by how things currently are.

My point of view is as simple as this.

As I've said many times before, they should keep Ganondorf as he is and add Ganon with the Trident as a newcomer.

Sure, some new moves would be cool and all, but I guess I'm just happy enough to be able to play as one of my favorite villains. *shrugs*

Falcondorf is fine, yeah, just like any clone. The issue is that Ganondorf is his own character from a completely different franchise, and he even stole his moves from the guy who's moves were made up for Smash in the first place. Is he powerful, yeah? Does he use his fists in the source material? Yeah, but flanderizing his POWAR to that point is a poor excuse of a compromise.

When I see Ganondorf in Smash, I don't see the great King of Evil, I see some out of shape guy who wanted to cosplay as Captain Falcon but had to make due with his Ganondorf costume. But like I said, he doesn't need a sword, he just needs to not be Falcon.

Yeah, honestly when I see a game that gets 7/10's all across the board and one guy gives it a 4, I know something's not right.
I am not interesting in Codename Steam but I'm sure it's a good game.

I am the same way. To me, he's the best Zelda character in the game, but he's still rather disappointing.

Demise was the Demon King, completely unrelated to Ganondorf. However, when he's defeated by Link, he curses all of Link and Zelda's descendants by having an incarnation of his hatred for them torment them for all eternity. That is every Ganon.
Basically it ruined or nullified any character development Ganondorf had or could have.

Sakurai hates Skyward Sword? Then why are two of the 5 new Zelda items from that game?

Skyward Sword got some love in Smash 4, to be absolutely honest.

Don't forget it also got an assist and an alternate costume for Link.
