D-D-DITCH SMRPG!

Okay, I'm calm now. Let's read!


Yeah, I expect the battle system to greatly differ as I dive into the later chapters. The game's battle system does seem to require more use of the control stick than SMRPG. At least, now I know who to ask when I'm stuck!

I do prefer the exploration of the Mushroom Kingdom in PM64 over SMRPG; it's more free to explore. It would have been cool if SMRPG 2 was made (although, that means no Paper Mario).

I know it was a joke, but honestly, I have to give credits for smrpg because it's the whole reason the series even exists....which is quite weird when you think about it, but still, smrpg is very good....it;s jsut way different than Paper Mario and again, you still have the foundation.

OK....the battle system....don't expect to spend an hour to figure it out. It's actually by far the simpliest of the series....which brings me to a little downside, it's the one that express less charms. You know stuff like cool animations and the freaking cheers from TTYD. You know my images for the words I use? Yeah, pm64 has a primitive implementation....it's just NICE and SUPER....that's it, you have lucky, but that;s situational.

So, for you who just plays this game as the first of the series....it's more a pros than a cons, it's just that trust me, it's really easy to learn....it just has less possibilities than its successor and spm.....is very different so don't worry about it for now

and again, you need to go further to give your takes ont his but JUST for the fact that paper Mario wouldn't exist, I would have not lked that smrpg2 would have got through. Seriously, TTYD is really the only game I enjoyed THAT MUCH! I still get why smrpg is good, but I don;t believed that it's the best experience I can get if I compare o what I get from Paper Mario. So, if you want to tell if you would have better liked smrpg2, just play Paper Mario more....you might come to the same conclusion....or not, but that I can;t tell

and as for being stuck....you don't even need to use internet for the main sequence because this series uses earthbound hint system....except the hint place is fixed. If you didn;t played earthbound, you basically pay money to someone and he will tell you where you should go. What I like is the more advanced you are....the more expensive it is....I love how it forces you to try and gives you a desesperate solution in cases of emergency.

So, I don;t expect you ask me stuff, but I can sure try to answer

and from having played smrpg...I don;t think there was that much tutorial outside of the essential one. Which yes, I kinda need to point this out....is a bit annoying. At the begginning, I sort of got stuff because I litterally had to try or I just got them....that's a bit weird, but again, system limitations. pm64 is more, it tells you briefly, but let you apply it right away and that's outside of tutorial....also, the tattle (a sort of portable help system...not getting through details) works both overworld and in battle too. This is actually when the ch1 being formal comes in: it's not a tutorial, but it;s hidden to be one. You really experience a good taste of what you should expect from now on, but you still are in a tutorial that doesn;t look like one!

I think there's like only 2 tutorials in pm64, one for using te badges and one for action commands....the rest is like brief talk while you apply right away and a "learn it yourself....with guide IF YOU WANT".

TTYD is a bit rough on essential tutorials (2 battles one), but here, the system is more polished and, the game lets you free for ch1....just like pm64....Though, there;s a very tiny tutorial after ch1....this one is like not much because you should feel happy to have beaten ch1

So, yeah, every Paper MArio tutorial > smrpg tutorial.

Oh and on a side note, I played superstar saga and I was surprised by the length of the formal tutorial....there's a feel of when it becomes a bit repeptitive and in the end, you just want to end it while thinking "Yeah, ok, I got it, BUT STOP TALKING!!!".

And it's scattered....

Yeah, I love more Paper Mario tutorial....maybe my best one of all rpg?

Because even earthbound....but then again, system limitations....
