It wasn't Paper Mario related, actually, but it was a 2D drawing of Woody from and old action figure.
The cover art for the figure--->

Oh, and your input in that thread was part of the reason why I bought the original on Wii Shop.

Does anyone remember that one time when Buzz actually went to space?
posting however, I'm sure it was very early when you joined....you switched it after for a dk64 kaptrap? (whaetever it's called, a green thingy :) ).

btw, your thoughts on pm64?

To be honest, I haven't made it far outside of meeting Goombario due to school/homework/Smash but it still retains some of the elements I enjoyed from SMRPG. I should play more in my free time.

It also gets a plus for being an RPG. :seuss:

Factoid: Not all lucario are polite, some are a little simple minded and rude.

Watching some TV, noticed that Toy Story 3 is on the Disney channel.
I thought @ Space Stranger Space Stranger might want to know. :seuss:

..Or maybe he doesn't, I don't know.
I just found out how to tag, and I'm darn well gonna use it.

euh....ok, I should actually tell what it keeps and ditch from smrpg because....depending on what you expect, you might nto like.

First, I know it's a cancelled smrpg, but don't expect it to be smrpg2. it's weird, but Paper Mario changed so much smrpg that it's just different. What it DOES keep is only the foundation (hammers, fp, partner, action command, VERY basic stuff).

However, the charms and the enjoyement is VERY different. You'll actually notice it after some ch, but I can understand that you didn't get it yet because prologue is btw very formal (it's in fact in every games of the series except sticker star....because reasons, the truth). Even more, the ch1 of every game is considered to be the most formal ch out of the prologue, but it's a whole ch, it;s longer than the prologue. The reasons is really simple, the way the series works is you of course have essential tutorials like battles and action commands, but how you use them in strategy and stuff is not told in traditional tutorial. It's told via the fact that you're playing the ch1 and the game puts situation that makes you lean (no joke in TTYD, if you don't have an item when you battle an enemy at ch1, you can't go....but the game again, tells you and even gives you the items near where you should use it).

Now, this is imo a great way of teaching, but the point is, you pretty much didn't experienced any of the core experience. EVERY games core starts at ch2 where it's way more diversed than what you would expect for anything Mario....cause it's PAPER....not the same thing AT ALL (haters from the thread gonna hate).

But for some reasons and do not ask why, most of the games begins VERY awesome at like ch3, pm64 is the same, but its best ch is imo the 4....really good.

Prologue is often nt considered a ch on its own because it's like even more formal than ch1 and way shorter....also, you have to consider some stuff.

pm64 actually has the longest prologue and it's the only game where you don't have action command at the beginning....you get them like very soon before ch1....

So, I pretty much would say, you kinda have to forget smrpg if you want to go further. There's the foundation, but it's expressed way differently and that is actually why the series is so awesome. Just play it when you want throught at least ch2 and then you could tell me clear first impression (I actually did this when I played spm....still in the thread very huge wall of text of basically me saying "I LOVE IT!").

If you get the chance, enjoy!

:)

I am not sure about that, it seems like a risky business decision to be completely honest.
Maybe a year ago, but now they're selling products.
The demand is slowly rising, especially since the release of SSB4, and they need to make sure they're ahead of the game.

Okay, I'm calm now. Let's read!

Yeah, I expect the battle system to greatly differ as I dive into the later chapters. The game's battle system does seem to require more use of the control stick than SMRPG. At least, now I know who to ask when I'm stuck! :oneeye:

I do prefer the exploration of the Mushroom Kingdom in PM64 over SMRPG; it's more free to explore. It would have been cool if SMRPG 2 was made (although, that means no Paper Mario).
