The problem is, the Genesis/SNES/Game Boy versions just don't cut it and the superior PC version won't work beyond Windows 98.

I just hit 1092.7 meters in HRC as Olimar with some well timed down and forward Smash attacks. He holds my second best record, only behind Ganondorf (who has over 1900 meters).

I'm not really feeling it for the stage then.

That moment when you discover Miiverse stage is Wii U-exclusive when you thought it was coming for both Wii U as 3DS since that Direct.
I actually feel sad now...

Miiverse (stage) should be on the 3DS, but without the posts that surround it in the background, unless they are made up from scratch and not from actual users.

Do you have the game on your PC still? If so, you can change the compability settings to Windows 9x (95, 98, or ME (but I don't think that one would work)).

Just tried him out. He's better now. Pikmin are no longer a mess on the 3DS.

I noticed the changes as soon as I started playing as Olimar after I downloaded the patch.

He's now fun to play. THIS is the Olimar I know from Brawl (except for max of 3 Pikmin, but that's fine for balancing purposes).

There are a still issues here and there at times, but nothing really major, as he's now fun to play as and actually viable.

But before he could execute the attack the Purple just said "Screw this" and Ran (literally ran, you could see it run) straight off a cliff and Olimar just pointed like he was doing a Warrior Pose.
We both stopped and looked off the cliff that the Purple ran off just like
"what the hell just happened"

Because in order to make the Wii U sell, the console version gets more stuff than the handheld.

I only had a demo that came with Toy Story for PC but I wanted moar!

Funny thing, a little bit after posting that, I went googling found a cool download that looks like not only containing the CD files but a thing call "Cold Shadow Portable" which plays the game without any PC modifications required (and I think it's the full game too judging from what I tested).

Yep, he's much better now, especially with custom moves. Sticky Pikmin Throw is good.

De-syncing still happens even with this patch, but:
- it's less likely to happen (a lot less)
- it's not as absurd as before (Pikmin have improved AI and even when they go crazy, it's not as messy as before)

In other words, Olimar is now actually playable on the 3DS version.
