Nintendo have done a good job. Sega should stay away from Sony and Microsoft, they haven't made a single Sonic game that has actually been good.

Though it would be cool if they brought the Chao aspect back, it gave the game more replay, and was generally fun.

I must tell you that MS and Sony aren't the ones actually making most of these games, they're just *presenting* them.

Plus, if it was actually one of these two company making a Sonic game, the developping team wouldn't have to be the same each and every time.

The Nintendo consoles fit Sonic better. DX and adventure were good remakes, and Rush was suited for the DS and was great, It's true that SEGA are the ones mainly designing the games, but the other companys do have involvement.

Sega used to make fantastic games, when their company were still going, the Sonic Dreamcast games were good, but things went downhill when Sega stopped. Since then Sega has relied on the other companys to help develop and release their games. It may be just a coincidance that the Nintendo released games have been better, but it seems Sega has been given more support from Nintendo.

SSBB is an example of why.

Somewhere where it's not quite hot, but not quite
I love Sonic, and God knows (am i allowed to say God on the forums?) that i will still love him even when i am 6 feet under (a tad exaggerated, but still~). Sonic was my second video game character, mario being first, but sonic appealed to me more.
I agree he hasn't been doing well lately, and the reason why haters hate is probably because they have a valid reason to hate him (declining game value).
but this is coming from a man who actually liked sonic heroes, and didn't mind playing sonic riders.

But there are a couple of things i'll never accept as a fan:
the archie comics/other sonic comic (forgot the brand)
anime or cartoons, and the crappy american games (spinball and meanbean machine...i could be wrong)
oh, also the fact that deem bristow (rip) is no more, and that he was replaced by a sub par substitute.

But i believe, sonic will return toglory, he will... just give him time.

i agree that sega used to make fantastic games, they still do (to me, anyway)
like puyo pop fever and stuff.

i don't mind the level designs of the sonic games though, i like them, the lay out, the themes, the styles (pumpkin hill woot)
i even don't mind that all the characters in sonic heroes are little chatter boxes!

the only things i wish they'd fix, is the darn camera in the 3d games, and the crappy (as of shadow the hedgehog) controls.

And please speed it up! the only fast parts in the 2006 game were the mach zones, i swear sonic was moving backwards all the time, thats how slow he was.

and bring back the chaos!!!!!! >_< the limitless replay value!!!!

Sonic is good, haters just need to give him a chance.
if they hate cause they say they hate, then they know nothing but hate.

:)) just wanted to toss in my few cents~

SEGA said that they taking a break from Sonic to reinvent his games and I hope they can do a successful job of it! I'm a HUGE Sonic fan and I will stick with him until the END! I think that this break will help Sonic's chances for a better lineup of games because Mario's games are good because of the time and effort put into each one, think about it, direct Mario sequels only come out...every 1.5 - 2.5 years? Whereas Sonic games might come out every 7-8 months - 1 year. Let's hope SEGA follows Nintendo's example and really makes Sonic shine in their next game.

SONIC WILL LIVE ON!

I'm a huge Sonic fan. Huge. Even though his new games suck. I'm sorry, I won't follow Sega blindly, a bad game is a bad game. Sonic '06 and Heroes were two of the worst games I have ever played in my life. But regardless, I still love Sonic, I love most of his characters, and I about **** myself when I saw his announcement.

Now, saying all this, I can totally understand the hate. A lot of his fanbase are the most annoying *******s on the face of this planet. I can say this freely, because I am indeed part of his fanbase, but I'm sorry, a good chunk of them are annoying morons. If I didn't have such fond memories of him on the Genesis and Dreamcast (for one of his games anyways) I would probably not enjoy him either, why would you want to enjoy the same thing as some annoying idiot who drives you mad?

I'm not bashing on everyone here, but this is just from being on the internet, you see really annoying idiots backing up Sonic.

...and well...Sonic porn...I mean seriously. Makes me want to rip out my eyes.

Seriously, before Sonic was confirmed, there were many that didn't care wether or not he was in, but then these people either became Sonic haters or lovers. This annoys me, because there is no reason to complain about a character being a Brawl. If they are there, and you don't like them, then don't use them, or make them your punching bag if you really wish to. I mean, I don't like Ice Climbers and didn't like seeing them back, but I don't go everywhere and complain about the Ice Climbers whenever possible (this is what Sonic haters do about Sonic most of the time). I'm not saying anyone has to like Sonic, or any other character, but no one has to complain. It gets more annoying than a fanboy.

I never understood character hate either...
well, CONFIRMED charater hate, that is.
Yeah, I used to hate Sonic, but after he was confirmed, I just shut my pie hole and accepted it--him--whatever I was just talking about.
The same thing happened to Olimar. up to the 15.84592 seconds before he was confirmed (give/take a little), I was like "OLIMAR? H*** NO!!" and then when I saw him, this was (approximately) my response:
"Olimar? WTH? oh... he can't be THAT bad... *looks deeper* he might be pretty cool*
and then I turned, clenched my fists, looked to the heavens and said with a sinister laugh :"BUT SONIC'S GONNA BE COOLER!!! BWAAHAHAHAHA!!!"

After I realized that I had been drinking too uch Mountain Dew, I reflected back at Sonic. Being a fan of speeeeeeeeed, the thought "If Sonic's in I wanna be him" occasionally coursed through my mind through the ocean of anti-Sonic that was also present. However, as said previously, the minute I saw him, I had an epileptic seizure and zoned out for an tentire class hour. the 2nd thing I did was enter mr. absorbency, who proceeded to darin my sea of Sonic hate, thus leaving the coursing thought:
To warp it all up in a nnutshell, here is that oursing thought again:
"Sonic looks pretty cool. I'm definately going to try him out and see how fast i can go with a bunny hood on lightning Braw (mightning Melee)"
so yeah, go Sonic.
