We've secretly been charging the spirit bomb for years, get at us?

I'm pretty sure premium money isn't used to maintain Smashboards, it survives on ad revenue (it did before premium was implemented after all, premium was requested because people wanted to shut up and give SWF money)

I'd vouch for this. Hell, I'd even re purchase premium if that happens. Sadly finances didn't allow me to donate. And I get paid 5am, Feb 1st :/

Also, I don't know what MLG was doing regarding ads, but as of right now ad revenue would not even cover close to half of the server costs. That doesn't mention additional one-time costs (Xenforo = ~$500).

The focus right now though isn't on monetization or advertisements - it is on simply getting the site to be better.

Yeah, either way, site improvement is going to be crucial. You might even hear some of the ways AZ and co. are working soon...
