Because every single character's moveset, frame data, viability and all-around metagame would have to be completely revised. It would be like an entirely new game. Too much work.

Also, Ganon wouldn't be able to AC his Dair. No thunderstorming = I'm not playing.

that pretty much sums it up I thought once why not just play brawl with 2X speed but same deal metagames would have to be changed and sonic would be S tier.

By the way, Heavy Brawl as tourney standard? That was discussed like, a year ago. It isn't tourney standard now for a reason.

Feel free to make your own Heavy Brawl tourneys, just don't expect the SBR to make it tourney standard. And don't yell at people who point out a blog belongs somewhere else. Blogs are not an excuse to not care about placing topics in the right forum.

...Wait, do you really think that people who think Heavy Brawl will never become tourney standard and SHOULDN'T be tourney standard are defending regular Brawl as a competitive game?

Well, someone doesn't know me at all.

All of the customizable Brawls are meant as gimmicks and that's how they're implemented, not very well. As one example, Sonic's recovery does NOTHING with Heavy Brawl. That makes a whole character unusable with it. If you want Brawl to have heavier gameplay then go for Brawl+ or Melee, those are really the only options.
