Is it possible for me to get Brawl+ up and running? Since Gecko is only a Freeloader and doesn't boot backup disks. I wasn't entirely sure where to post this btw.

Alright, apparently it's 'easy'. Can someone give me some help, then? I'm letting my friend borrow my copy of Brawl (he's in another state ATM), and I have no idea how to set up Brawl + to work with a backed up copy. I've been trying a bunch of different methods suggested to me on the IRC all night and nothing's been working, I'm really frustrated and I need help.

I tried all yesterday to get it working and I still haven't. So could somebody please give me some steps on how to get it working. I'm on the 3.2 U.S. firmware and I have the most recent Gamma Loader.

Don't use Gamma, use freaking cioscorp and starfall, it allows you to get perfect backup loading for any Wii disc, and you can then go through GeckOS normally with a backup disc or use the rebooter, whatever you want, just use cIOScorp and the like.

Yeah, you do need cIOScorp for that. I've already tried having Gecko OS load a backup and fail repeatedly.

cIOScorp really isn't that hard to install either. If you need help with it just PM me.

yeah, but if you do cIOScorp, do Starfall, because it sucks looking at your disc channel seeming not to work because it won't skip the update. If you install Starfall, you can just load from the disc channel. It looks nice :)

Actually, if you get preloader you can enable a feature that disables the disc channel checking for updates... and without preloader you can't really install cIOScorp.

I think both work fine. If I'm not mistaken though (probably am), Starfall is incompatible with firmware 4.0 and cIOScorp is.

Nah, you can install it fine without a preloader, its just your games won't work very well without GeckOS or a preloader or Starfall.

Well yeah, that's true. You only really need preloader for its ability to access the homebrew channel without having the system menu. Bootmii can do this too, so I guess it's just preference.

So it does NOT work with gamma loader?

I've tried textures and they work fine but the Brawl+ package I downloaded does not.
That doesn't make any sense. Did you change ANYTHING else between the switch from vBrawl to Brawl+ when you used Gamma?

I still highly recommend using cIOScorp. It's the easiest solution to your problem; with it you can launch a legit/backup version of Brawl from Gecko OS and everything will load perfectly (textures included).

The "usual" explanation for codes loading but textures not is the SD card being used. If it's SDHC (meaning >2GB), the Wii won't be able to use the textures.

Launching backups is expressly against this board's rules as it borders on piracy. If you want to continue this discussion, take it elsewhere. Far elsewhere.
