Snake is the cheapest character in brawl by default.

holy crap, when i first read the title of this thread, i thought this would be a discussion about his f-tilts or too many explosives. Turns out it was about the ethical use of landmines through smash bros brawl. This is smashboards and we're playing smash bros brawl, probably the friendliest fighting game evar, ethics and morals need not come into the conversation.

It's no longer the friendliest fighting game ever.

Not with Snake in it! Snake has injected a healthy dose of testosterone into Smash's mainline.

There's no room for friendliness on the battlefield. Only... explosives.

i chose not to read most of this for good reason.. i don't see snake as a coward. i just think his moveset potentially promotes more defensive play. That is, however, not always the case. it really just depends on who is playing. snake is not cheap.

Oh please. Dont go judging a book by its cover. Too few posts make a person as ignorant as too many posts make a person an ***. Anyways my view on Snake. Hated on because people havent encountered many characters that fight like Snake (None Do) hence they have no real idea how to defend against him and get beat. I have been searching for Snake players purely to learn what they do and plan around it.

Yeah, that is a good point... Snake did sort of get an element of surprise in this game.

I've though for a while now that Snake will be top tier easily, but now I'm thinking it may be too early to say that. Maybe we just haven't yet figured out all of the good counters for his moves, and when we do, he won't be such a nightmare to fight.

....but more likely he'll keep kicking major ***.

I think this guy has a good point. Snake is cheap, because of his mines, and because RL issues have so much place in video games!!! I think I'm going to quit snake now, just because of this statement, and play somebody not cheap like.... Uhh.... *head explodes from the fact that everyone can be called cheap*

Oh yeah and /sarcasm

I never really overanalyzed the mines, because they just splode.

I know that's a little disrespectful of me to say, but Sakurai knew the risk.

Snake was after all intended for melee, but once in Brawl, what could you do to maintain Snakes element of stealth? Mines, seeing as Sakurai didn't want guns, but was open to explosives.

in the american revolution, the english marched into battle standing in neat rows with red uniforms.

the americans lied prone and found cover.

The English were like "dude you guys are cowards, stand up and get shot!"

and the americans said "QQ you lil scrub. LOL" and opened a 3 inch hole in the Brit's face.
And then the britz began to play Rugby, the most brutal officialised ballgame in the world, and also started to kick *** at it. America, on the other half, invented football, where each player wears a mark IV Mjollnir armor like the one masterchief uses in halo.

Eh, where are the real men now ? >:\

edit : This is irony, i r o n y .

Seems like the only post in the entire thread that actually adressed the issue that the OP pointed out.

Still it seems pointless to argue the ethicality of landmines in war through discussion of a mostly family-friendly game.
