I'm a real good snake player but I think he's the right one in teams. In all the tourneys I have went to my team mates have been complaining that my grenades and c4 are allways blowing them up and I can't even use my land mine because they will just cry saying I can't see them and what not. So now I have to limit my explosives. Does anyone else have this problem and how do I get around it?

I might just go to singles in the tourney.

Be smarter with your grenades and c4, and depending on the partner tell them to think of the mine as part of their character as well.

Never let your C4 last longer then 20 seconds - it risks blowing itself up before you are able to. So when you can and the C4 is clear, blow it up.

Avoid using grenades when your friend can hit into them. Use them more to secure your area or to save them from what might kill them. (eg: Throw it into an aerial that otherwise would have killed them, the grenade normally has slightly less knockback <_<)

Play a more supportive role then you would in singles.

That's all I have..

Yeah I'll try not to make that same mistake again because last time I forgot about it and the c4 killed me and it cost me the tourney. :p

I don't know what else to say that SuSa hasn't said already. Snake is a monster in doubles, you just need to play more defensively. You should then move in for a kill when your partner has built up enough damage on your opponent. NEVER play doubles matches the way you would a singles match, it'll screw you over... Hard.

in all honesty, tell your team mates to be more aware.
ive played with many teammates who are good at avoiding my **** even if I'm throwing them completely randomly.

grenades are beastly in teams, find a partner than can deal with them.

i dont use mines in teams, and I usually only use c4 if i'm going to blow it up like immediately

I agree that it has a lot to do with your partner, if they can't deal with nades then you need to adapt to that but it's better if they can, need good team chemistry to use snake in teams

as janitor said, right now i believe grenade are so good in team, so you need a teamate that acept the fact you will throw many. Obviously your teamate can't use character like a huge bowser or ice climbers if you spam nades.

I also think its the same for c4 and mine. Since its more dificult for your oponent to keep track of them, i think they are better that in single. Obviously you have to signal your teamate the location of the mine. Thats in theory since unfortunatly right now i am not good enough to use mine and c4 well, and I rather not use them in serious game since i am known for my multiple blowing up my teamate

I'm always playing a role as a offensive type of snake so i'm always attacking. So its hard for me not to use nades and my team mate tends to be right by me when im using them and then they start to complain. My team mate is always stepin on my land mines so i stop using them i think it way difficult in doubles with snake then singles.

Snake is used for support but also EASILY gets ***** in teams. Its very hard since you can't use grenades normally cause you might hit your partner. Just stay in the back and support and sometimes go in front to help out your teammate. One of you must stock tank though. :) Also, you must have a teammate to protect you. Its a buddy system. Depending on your temmate, you can do some sick 2v1 combos. Using the c4 sticky usually helps a lot. Just don't blow them up. Thats all I have for now.

i play teams with my brother's diddy (we **** teams :)) and we just really focus on stage control. two bananas and a c4 at all times. we're good at keeping track of each others items (since we play each other all the time, and are good at dealing with and using each others stuff), and ill always let him know when im gonna play up a c4 with him nearby. i give him the higher controller port too, cause it can be helpful (id be less likely to be negatively affected by this). I barely use nades, way less than normal, cause its too easy to hit him (espc on smaller stages), but rather play a massive spacing game, try and keep our opponents trapped between ftilt and a banana combo. coming from behind to ko with an utilt is awesome too, btw.

I play a ditto Snake team. My cousin and I have played sooooooooooo many Snake dittos that we're really good at avoiding each other's crap.

We're really well synchronized.

Me and Forward actually won a teams tournament match cause I left a c4 on the stage and it blew up and killed one of our opponents. SOMETIMES IT IS WORTH THE RISK

This kids a noob.

Anyways, snakes a fantastic character in teams if you play him right. I find myself playing more defensive and abusing tilts and other things that might not work in singles due to the often chaos inspired by 4 people on screen, landing risky aerials like dair or even a fsmash. His ability to tank and do well in 2v1's or even lend a stock makes him a great partner to an offensive character like mk or wario.

One time, I left c4 on the ground, and I was playing the climbers and they started hobbling me, so I was like "there goes my last stock" when out of miracle his nana just landed and he grabbed and tried to hold a upsmash and my c4 went off. Killing his nana. I won that match <3 C4 sometimes is worth it.

I just picked up Snake and I play him mainly in teams and not singles lol

I like to stick my team mate with the C4 when it's a 2v1 and let him grab the person and throw them up to a blow up, it's nice. Or since he's normally D3 it's dthrow to Fsmash
