The first official Pandacast is here! Youko is taking a well deserved 2 week break from podcasting while he goes to visit family out of town, leaving me, SamuraiPanda, to host the podcast. I’ve finally (almost) finished recording the special “flashback” episode of Show Me Your News, just in time for Christmas! Unfortunately, I’m not the only person you’ll hear in the podcast this week. In fact, I’m joined by not 1 or 2 other people, but we have 6 guests this week!

This time, I’m joined by Buzz as my co-host for the roundtable, where we bring back 3 people who have had an impact on the podcast since its inception. Colbusman returns to talk to us about Porky’s Theme and Frigate Orpheon; Pyroloserkid comes in to give us his two cents on the Subspace Emissary Movie and Kirby’s hats; And Mic_128 wraps up the RT as we talk about the Team Healer and Co-op Events. Truly an all-star roundtable cast that you do not want to miss!

Finally, replacing the mailtime this week will be a segment where I talk to Scav and M3D about competitive Brawl, the most in-depth competitive discussion we’ve ever had on SMYN, so be sure to check it out!

This will no doubt end up being the longest podcast episode to date, so I hope you all enjoy the Pandacast Numero Uno!

Knuckles the Assist-chinda

Couldn't really think of something good for that, but yeah...

Anyways, on the Knuckles ordeal, dear god I would (MGS4:)Love(Theme) to have Knuckles as a playable character, but you being Sakurai and all, you know the the very, very least, his only saddest way of being in here is a sticker (most probable, since god**** Silver is a sticker already, and only been around for about a year! I mean WTF man!:mad:).. or a lovely Assist-chinda. You know it to be true, and it does suck I know, but if they did place an idea for patches for the game (HAL-le-lou-yah! Get it, HAL, Hal-le-lou-yah, I'm so fu-witty! :D :D :D) it would be a omen of the second coming!

Lastly, I made my own remarks about the kirby outfits,

1.) ZSS Kirb: Going to an Anime Con. as Winry Rockbel? Edward Elric confirmed for brawl!
2.) Diddy Kirb: My simple remark was this... :D :D :D

also... Leon Kennedy is for brawl!

See Charizard is the evil twin of the Lake monster when he's green!! :O!!!

I didn't listen to ALL of it though. Shortly after that point, I skipped the 40 minutes of competitive, because I'm a casual player, and it bored me.

Great job Samurai Panda! Not only do you get the honor of having the first burp, but also what will be one of the longest (if not the longest) episodes to EVER be made!

The Bionic Commando podcast is probably a podcast about the new Bionic Commando remake.

Another character other than MegaMan? Chun-Li, Ryu... Dan? Or Zero or X, and he just was being specific about MegaMan to trick people. Viewtiful Joe is likely I guess, but he wouldn't excite me.

The stage is bland, sadly. *Sigh* Oh well. Maybe in better lighting, it'll look better. And heck the Frigate Orpheon looked nothing like that; even the Parasite Queen's energy cage looked better in Prime. They shoulda gotten some people from Rare to model it. In motion, I think it might look better, especially with the computer panels. It does need a background. I think Brinstar Depths LOOKED good.
Kirby's Zelda hat is *child* Zelda's (OoT), it looks like.

Dual Souls. :-P Awesome!

I like Ice Climber's stage. :-P And DK's looks even better.

Money doesn't get ruined when it gets wet, does it? It just gets... wet for a while. That's why money isn't exactly paper; it's part cloth isn't it?

Where were you during the San Francisco earthquake? Uh... in my great-grandfather's sack?

I never post for these podcasts (though I listen to them regularly) but I felt this one was worthy. Amazing job, Panda. But just because there was much more quantity, the quality was still pretty good. Though, you guys went on alot of tangents, but those are the kinds of things that keeps the podcast interesting.

By the way, about your "robot army" issue (and if it's been brought up before, excuse me), it seems that your program sometimes designates people a much lower codec. I have no idea what program you're using, but perhaps it's because when there are more people, it decides to lower the codec (which means lower quality) to reduce bandwidth. I've only had a few years of experience on Teamspeak with things like this, which really isn't that complicated when it comes to these things, but when I heard the "robotic" voices, I immediately knew what it was. You could try editing the codecs around when you get that, though the whole codec theory could be completely off altogether considering I don't know what you're using, but it's worth a shot.

I listened to the whole show.

My favorite part was the competitive discussion with Scav and M3D. Very insightful and intelligent talk looking at all the different angles.

What's with the hate with lava stages? =(
Brinstar is an amazing stage.

Anyway, here's my comments for the Pandacast. First, great job to SP for creating the episode since you had to venture into organizing and editing a podcast, which wasn't your field of expertise. It was really awesome of you for doing this since we probably won't have an episode for SMYN! without you or Youko. Second, I especially enjoyed the amazing number of guests on the show. With at least three people in each section, it really made the podcast more lively and far more humorous. I always liked when the second season of SMYN! brought a guest as the third voice, and this episode really made my night of over three hours of listening people on the Internet pipes. Finally, just **** at the time and effort you guys (especially SP) took to organize this. Doing a show without your fellow host, dealing with all the technical difficulties, spending time to each guest separately, etc. I normally don't post on SWF at all (Look at my join date), but this episode made me actually want to post. Great job, guys and happy holidays.

Oh, the only problem with this episode was that you didn't mention KOS-MOS as a WTF? character :(

Made me very sad ;_;

I still play Coin Mode and I like it, but there are obviously extremely few people who I can play it with. Of course, I don't play it often. Just when I'm bored. Maybe next time, you should say a minute amount of people ever play it.

Panda, loved the podcast (for what I actually stayed tuned to).

Nothing against you, I felt it was almost as good, if not just as good as the regular podcasts with Yuoko. The only problem I had with it was that it felt a bit TOO long. To be honest, I lost interest by the time it was about 20+ minutes into Pyroloserkids segment. Felt like you barely touched what you normally would on a regular basis, and frankly, I just don't have the patience.

Maybe I'm the only one who feels this way, but hopefully next week you won't have another 3 1/2 hour podcast.

Anyway, looking forward to next week! Good luck with that one too!

Oh jeez. You finished the podcast by now. Well, here's my thoughts anyway. I listened to everything and I think the cool part about this was that a woman was somehow involved talking about Smash Bros., because its a rarity for woman to liking video games, let alone Smash Bros.

I thought Buzz was awesome and I hope he comes back in a future podcast.

I think you should talk about how coincidentally, Knuckles was mentioned on the Dojo too after last week's podcast. I'm looking forward to listening to this one coming out tomorrow and I love the long podcasts too so don't make them too short. Also, I thought it was great how you told people to pause for breaks because no one can sit through listening to a chat for three hours straight. It can get tedious but luckily, you made breaks during last week's podcast so I applaud you for your planning ahead.

Yeah, I listened to it all. Got to do something while I practice by myself.

Y'all did a great job, keeping the energy up throughout. But y'all got totally punked by Sakurai on two of your predictions, and I feel I must remark upon them.
1) A significant Christmas update. It was funny how y'all went through the reasoning of why other dates don't matter, but then you both agreed that this one would be special.
2) That the Jump Festa demo wouldn't be different from that of E for All. Y'all went on an on as if you were reasoning about game design, but in the end it was just meaningless speculation.

Again, it was really enjoyable, but y'all should keep those two things in mind before you make your next prediction.
