I'll be willing to bring my gamecube and a copy of melee, would you want any other games since at the previous smashfest other fighting games were played and enjoyed (I have SC 2 for game cube and GG AC for ps2)

For parking can you give an estimate as to how many cars could be parked at any one time? If this will be a large group (odds are) it might not be a bad idea to have people in local areas meet up and car pool to save gas and perhaps tolls.

There are many places to park but yes it would be a better idea to car pool and save gas. My estimate is 20+ cars. You can bring other games and systems if you want and even start tournaments for those.

also, what days and times do you plan each tourney and what day?

I probably can only come during saturday. I was lookin forward to the original date of friday and such, since i work on Sunday. Being as it may, that means I won't be able to carpool anyone that plans to spend the night.

I'm not really sure yet but I'll try to figure something out. We should try to start the day with the tournaments. How long do tourneys usually last?

This weekend, crap, I doubt that I will be able to make it. I was barely able to make it to the last DE event last friday. I'm not busy or anything but on short notice, I think my parents would say yes, and pull some crazy idea out of my azz. If it was next weekend, then I think I could do that and getting there isn't much of an issue. But even if I do go, I don't think that I could stay the night.

If I do come, I wiould bring a Brawl set up

And another thing J.V. d'you have any cats or dogs cuz I'm allergic. My allergies are seriously BAD. They're so bad, it becomes a hardship to even play the game.

And if I can't make to this joint, then look forward to my tournies because I should be getting some feed back soon on the venues I'm trying to get. I'm even trying to get venue at UD. UD gave me a number and all, so I hope getting a venue there goes well.

I have three small dogs. I'm gonna keep them from getting any contact esp. since you're allergic Ace. I have a backdoor we can use to avoid the dogs. Since some ppl can only show up Saturday I may just have to change Saturday to an earlier time like say 3 p.m. perhaps?

Depending on the amount of people if you decide to do pools greatly affects how much time each takes. As well as how many TVs. Let's assume you have 5 TVs for this.

Scenario: 20 people
Double Elim, Singles

Say you decide to seed by pools down to 16
5 people in each pool, 4 pools. last place in each pool gets eliminated.

take the maximum amount of a time a match lasts. 7 min and best of 3. Total of 21 minutes per set. Now, we're aware that matches usually don't last that long. 10 sets in each pool, creating a total of 210 minutes per pool maximum. That is 3 hours 30 minutes. Now let's take a more reasonable time, 15 minutes per set. (Melee never lasts nearly this long, but brawl can, but lets say its Brawl). 150 minutes per pool, 2hr and 30 min.

Now you have 16 man seeded double elimination bracket. Again, lets use the 15 min per set assumption. 8 Rounds in the beginning, lets say you had 5 TVs (hence the 5 pools). The total number of sets in a whole double elimination bracket, not including a victory from the loser's bracket finalist against the winner's bracket finalist, is 30 sets. 30 div by 5 TVs is 6, times 15 is 1hr and 30 min. Assuming that nobody goes over the "USUAL" maimum time per set (remember its not the actual maximum, it would take 4 hours, with 5 TVs and 20 entrants. Time needed varies depending on the ratio of TVs to entrants, etc.

I just gave that example as how to approximate how long an event would take. Of course, brawl singles are just plain long.

Alright looks like using the standard set would take up too much time. I may have to reduce some things like amount of lives and time allowed per match hmmm. So assuming that a tournament will last about 3 hours or less...I think I can come up with a schedule by Wednesday or Thursday. I may have both pool and straight-out elimination matches.

BTW that explanation i gave would be for an 'ASSUMED maximum time'

I could see it taking as little as 3 hours
about 3-4 hours with 5 tvs.

make the brawl tourney on sat so i can come. melee is a no-no for me.
Saturday will have mainly singles matches for both Melee and Brawl, Saturday will also have at least one doubles match. Sunday will have mainly doubles matches for Melee and Brawl, and one singles match. Schedule will be posted Wednesday late at night.

I'll throw it out there though, if you can beat me in that set... not only will you take my money in brawl, but you'll take my undefeated reign in it. ^_^ Can't wait
