I have identified at least 10 consistent smash livestreams. Right now it is insanely clumbsy to try to put a livestream on the livestream area of smashboards, we have to clutter up the boards with our own promotion, filling Melee discussion with our "im streaming!" threads and yet still not alerting everyone who wants to watch.
Smashboards should seriously consider making a substantial and dedicated area of the site to the listing of online livestreams that is updatable by the streamer.
http://www.teamliquid.net/ is the largest gaming forum in the world, and deals mostly with starcraft. On the right of the screen they have a "Livestreams" section that is heavily trafficked. It is easy to place yourself online. It is just one button press in fact. On there the section is not toooo big, but thats because they have tons to announce. Because we don't we could make smash streams a serious part of the site.
If smashboards is intent on keeping up with the times and providing the best and most up to date smash community center, they absolutely must realize the need for a dedicated streamer section. My channel for example has accumulated 7,000 views in just 3 weeks and only 5 live shows. (http://www.twitch.tv/peefsmash)The demand is out there, video game streaming is one of the fastest growing forms of media. Please help us bring more members to the community and more traffic to the site!
I am posting this in Melee Discussion (before the suggestions forum?) in order to gather support and show a real interest in a streaming setup similar to if not better than that on http://www.teamliquid.net/
