Metro Hoagies (Subway)
Buckethelm Chicken (KFC)
Bears' Garden (Panda Express)

Five Nights of Fast Food
A game similar to Five Nights at Freddy's where instead of animatronics at a pizza place it has mascots at the food court.
Like the first game, there would be five mascots:
Ronald McDonald (Makes sense)
Burger King (Makes sense)
Colonel Sanders (Makes sense)
Wendy (Adds a female character)
Chuck E Cheese (Did FNAF)
The main character is an unnamed person who works at the mall.

Amiibo: Happy Meals would change color based on which Amiibo.

ATARI FIGHTER PITCHES

Honestly, I'm impressed a job this specific got this many submissions, gives me confidence to try more jobs of this ilk in the future!

As always: do not vote for your own submission.

And discussion is highly encouraged!

GAME PITCH CHALLENGE 8

Pitch a Game About Food
That's it. That's the prompt. Make your game about food. I'm hungry. Can be based on something original, or an established IP.

Go wild.

OPTIONAL BONUS CHALLENGE: Include Amiibo Functionality.

Here's something I'll be throwing in on occasion to make things more interesting. Bonus Challenges are optional, and you don't get any extra points for using it. It's just an added wrinkle, if you're up for it.

Submissions and voting close next monday.
Atari Fighter Pitches
  1. Pong Colosseum - I really like the idea behind this, to be honest. Atari's library being on the slightly more obscure side (at least, in the public consciousness) would really lend well to the idea of a shared, strange world consisting of all of these characters, and I also love the idea of the game itself taking cues from Pong in terms of its actual mechanics.
  2. Atari Attackers - I like the idea of going for specifically a 50th anniversary celebration, and the idea of having you switch between 2600-inspired graphics and a modern look is a really inspired way to capture Atari's history. Also, props on limiting the guest characters like that, not to mention going for a few unorthodox but smart choices here and there.
  3. Atari Fighting League - A tough call for the third spot, but I genuinely like the character selection here - picks like Oliver, Sauron and Emi really feel like they're going for a spread from across Atari's history, and it's a pretty fun way of handling a selection like that.
Pitch #008
A pitch this open-ended surely has a million and one ways to be taken, but given how late my submission is, I'll keep it simple.

Food Court would be a fairly typical falling-block puzzle game in some ways, with the idea being that it takes place in a food court of a mall where different stalls, each selling different types of food, are in competition to make the most money to pay for their spots. While the main draw of the game lies in its frenetic Lunch Hour! segments, which act akin to a Tetris 99-esque battle-royale between you and the other stall-owners, you can also use the money gained from serving food to purchase upgrades to your food's variety - introducing more block types to have to manage, but higher prices and tips in response.

1743444171338.png

Slightly slap-dash mockup!

In this example, you start out with burgers, but your opponents could have all kinds of things from sushi, to tacos, to even cakes. The number of ingredients you'll have to work with depends on how much you've invested, so while you might just start with patties and buns, you'll be able to create more complex burger structures as you acquire more toppings. Foods can only be stacked vertically, and when they are - with a "top" and "bottom" featuring toppings and meat on the inside - they'll vanish, and get rid of one of the customers in your line. However, wasted food costs cash to get rid of - so be careful with how you're stacking things up, or you'll be left with incomplete stacks when Lunch Hour ends...

Continual good performance gets more customers in your line during Lunch Hour! segments, and more complex food structures result in higher tips - and thus, an opportunity to leave your competition in the dust, given the better you do, the easier it is to do better. (Woah, capitalism!) However, there'll sometimes be modifiers you'll need to consider - shortages of a particular ingredient might make it rarer, but give cash bonuses if you manage to serve it, while other stall owners might even sabotage your equipment. And, of course, if you leave too many people waiting, your queues are going to get shorter in the future....

As for amiibo support; I'll again keep things simple and suggest alternate themes based on food related to the character/series that's scanned in. You'd already have basic themes like "tacos" or "cake", but you could totally have something like a mushroom-themed wedding cake for a Peach amiibo, cooked chicken and plenty of gems for Shovel Knight (who doesn't love eating rocks?), that kind of thing. It doesn't need to be too complex, and I think keeping it cosmetic seems fun if only because you wouldn't lose out on too much by not scanning it in. Of course, these themes also change the actual stall-owner to match that too, so you'd have some funny scenarios like Ridley running a food stall.

Sorry this one's a little looser than some of my previous ones. It's been a manic week.

Yknow what I miss? Pokémon Spinoffs, I suppose we still get some, but most are mobile games these days. For this challenge I want you to pitch a brand new pokemon spinoff.

It may not be a sequel to an existing spinoff.

It may not be a mobile game.

It may not be a racing or fighting game, either.

Vote for Food
  1. Mascot Madness - Reading this pitch gave me Cereal Killaz vibes in the best possible way.
  2. Fast Food - Corny name aside, a Sonic-style platformer starring a Doordasher is something I did not expect.
  3. Food Court - A food puzzle game is a nice idea, but what puts it over the edge is how the Amiibo functionality is used differently than the rest.
Pokemon Spinoff Game

Pokemon Boxing

Console: Switch 2
Release Window: Q2 2028

After the release of Generation 10, The Pokemon Company decides to take stock of their history of spinoffs. They've done fighting games, pinball games, racing games, party games, virtual pet games, puzzle games, rail shooter games, and even RPGs. So what's next?

As such, on the 2027 Pokemon Day Direct, The Pokemon Company announced an entry in the one major genre they did not yet try: A 3D platformer.

You play as a lonely Mimikyu, as you traverse a virtual recreation of various Pokemon biomes to break out of your trainer's Storage System. Along the way, you can recruit various Pokemon to join you, like Slugma, Cramorant, and Furret. These recruited Pokemon can be playable in multiplayer minigames, which you can unlock by recruiting five different Pokemon.

By the end of the game, your Mimikyu starts to wonder if escaping the Storage System is really worth losing its new friends in the process. Will Mimikyu choose fresh air or friendship? In the end, it's up to you to decide.

Food Game Votations:
  1. Fast Food - It's a clever name. And hey; I actually think the idea of having to rapidly deliver food like a delivery driver would lend really well to some fun ideas, especially if you went whole-hog and ended up giving them a bicycle power-up or something. Plus, the world types are really fun too.
  2. Mascot Madness - I like the decision to go with legally-distinct characters with similar archetypes, that's inspired. And like Master Hero mentioned; it's giving Cereal Killas vibes, but I honestly really like that. It's cool!
  3. Batter Up! - I'm not entirely sure why it's specifically baseball, but the idea itself sounds like a ton of fun, and I'm almost certain it'd have a really unique visual style. Trying to avoid being eaten while perhaps defending yourself from the (now-giant) albino weasel seems like it'd lend to some pretty fun mechanics, too!
Pitch Challenge #009:
I had an idea for this initially, but then realised it was skirting way too close to another spinoff for comfort, so I'll instead switch things up with this idea; Pokégolf. Combining top-down golf (akin to something like Neo Turf Masters rather than Wii Sports: Golf) and Pokémon-catching, the basic idea is that you can open your Pokéball after taking a swing to release the Pokémon inside - which can then use a skill of some kind to either sabotage the opponent or in some way interact with the environment. So, specifically,
  1. Turn order is determined as applicable (alternating between you and your opponent if you have more than one ball).
  2. Aim, calibrate, and swing!
  3. Ball lands in place, then you get a seperate "Action" option.
  4. This option lets you get your Pokémon to use their skill, or maybe walk around or otherwise interact.
  5. End turn, passes onto the next player.
  6. You win if you get your Pokéball in the hole during either "Swing" or "Action" phases.

1743534077644.png

Gotta Putt 'em All!
I'm not entirely sure what the Pokémon roster would specifically look like, but I'm assuming it'd be on the smaller side; which you'd be able to build up by using one of your Golf Pokéballs to catch wild Pokémon in the field during matches. Each Pokémon features a singular move of their own, which act in different ways, as well as their weight and even typing leading to slightly different stats like ball weight, ground friction, and interaction with hazards like fire pits, sand bunkers, snow piles, and ponds of water. Of course, Pokémon have HP and PP pools that you'll have to keep an eye on - so it's important to be strategic with what skills you use, given getting hit can leave you in a dazed state that might push you down the turn order!

There's also potential for a wide variety of side modes or alternate takes;
  • Diglett Infestation!: The hole keeps moving, and it seems a Diglett's to blame! You'll need to knock out the Diglett inside to get your Pokéball in the hole - but be careful, because if you leave it too long, they'll burrow back into the ground and take the hole with them!
  • Multi-Mon Mayhem!: Rather than just having a single Pokéball at a time, each player's armed with up to six - and all they need to do is get a single ball in the hole. That doesn't seem hard, right? Well... with enough Pokémon around to cause chaos, it might be harder than you think!
  • Muk Amuk!: Muks from the region's central city have invaded the course! With launching power being on the low side due to all that muck, you'll need to use skills to clear it and move forward - but be careful not to clear a path for your opponent's success...
As for the actual story, I'd suggest this takes place in a new region that's become simultaneously as obsessed with golf as other regions are with Pokémon, but also with Pokémon, so they've invented "Golf Pokéballs" that are specifically suited to be safe to hit with clubs - while their architecture and region as a whole is packed with courses of all kinds. Oh, and there's an Evil Organisation known as Caddie Inc. that want to privatise every golf course in the entire region and charge extortionate amounts of money for people to play, while forcing trainers to become caddies with complex contracts. There's also plenty of silly cosmetics to collect, like Pokémon-themed clubs or whatever. (Finally, I can get a hole-in-one with an Onix club!)

Pokémon Warriors
Another collaboration Tecmo Koei and The Pokémon Company. Following in the footsteps of Hyrule Warriors and Fire Emblem Warriors, this is a musou game featuring characters and settings from the Pokemon franchise. Like other musou games, the game revolves around clearing out hordes of enemies. Certain enemies have type weaknesses, so the meta is all about using the right Pokemon. TM's and other items can be found and equipped to power up your Pokémon.

The game's plot has the player create an original trainer, who sets out on their adventure. When a new villain team known as Team Crown seek to bring several powerful legendary Pokemon under their control in order to rule the world. The player must set off to stop them, recruiting several Pokemon along the way. The actual Pokémon do all the brawling, with the player trainer appearing in the background and in cutscenes. There is bonus mode that's just playing as the Pokemon in challenges, and also a mode where you recreate iconic moments from across the Pokémon saga. Several iconic Pokémon characters appear and there are boss battles.

Roster
  1. Pikachu
  2. Sandslash

312 Sem Título_20250403203704.png

I know my drawing is so simple and don't have many details, and that's where i think about the characters, i made using IbisPaint X on my phone (i use Smashboards sometimes on my computer or on my phone,i want to have a graphics tablet, but on my country who i live,it's impossible to find one)

Pokemon Zoo Simulator
Spin-off game where you run a Safari Zone Zoo. Setting up tanks and exhibits for the various aquatic Pokemon. There are expeditions where you go out and catch wild aquatic Pokemon to bring back to the facility. Imagine an aquarium, except each window has a screen behind it so that you can just go watch the pokemon in a habitat. It would probably be best if it was an actually server with NPC pokemon.

There is a feature where you can download your Pokemon onto a PokeBall with a chip in it and put your Pokemon into a special exhibit (run by an ai assigned to that type of Pokemon). Have full-sized battles on screen with other patrons.

Challenge 9: Pokémon Sports

in Pokémon universe, it's very common Pokémon battles, but there is one thing that is not added on the Pokémon universe, sports, both humans and pokémons play sports and it have olympic games by the regions, this game is similar to Mario & Sonic at Olympic Games series or Mii Sports, but it have more games, some dream events but Pokémon-themed, and it have original human characters and each game just a pokémon can be used to play (as example: Abomasnow playing hockey, a Decidueye playing archery, a Lucario playing basketball)

There's also potential for a wide variety of side modes or alternate takes;

Vote for your top three! Don't vote for yourself! Feel free to discuss the submissions!

GAME PITCH CHALLENGE 10
Pitch an all-new Scrimblo Bimblo Game!
That's right folks! To celebrate 10 challenges, let's have you make an all-new Scrimblo Bimblo type character.

If you have no idea what that means, A scrimblo bimblo is typically a cartoony character that jumps around and collects stuff. Think Mario, Sonic, Bubsy, Banjo, Glover.

For this challenge I want you to make a game as always, but I really want you to go into depth about your character, what sets them apart from other scrimblos?

BONUS CHALLENGE
Put your Scrimblo Bimblo in Smash Bros
That's right. You heard me. Put your Scrimblo Bimblo in smash, interpret this bonus challenge however you like. This challenge is a completely optional bonus, and should have no bearing on what game pitch you vote for later. This is just a special treat for the tenth challenge. You do not have to do this bonus if you don't want to.

  1. Pokegolf - What sets this apart from the other entries is how it specifically focuses on one topic, being golf.
  2. Pokemon Warriors - This idea, while fitting like a glove on Aipom's tail, gets points docked for being well-tread territory at heart.
  3. Pokemon Zoo Simulator - Honestly, I'd prefer if this was the gimmick of Pokemon Snap 3.
Scrimblo Bimblo Pitch

Halfwit Horse in the Pantheon of Prancers

Halfwit Horse is down on his luck after his racing career went ablaze. However, after dying in his sleep, Halfwit is sent to the Greek Pantheon with one goal in mind: Reclaiming his natural equine instincts in one week, or be sentenced to life in Tartarus. Halfwit accepts the deal, as if he had a choice, and goes through seven cycles of rebirth.

World 1: Born To Be Wild
Halfwit Horse is first reborn into an average, quadrupedal, non-talking horse, whose task in this incarnation is to run 500 feet in 15 seconds.

World 2: Two-Trick Pony
Halfwit is now a showpony in a 1920s circus, tasked with jumping through consecutively more elaborate hoops.

World 3: Working for Carrots
In this stage of life, Halfwit is a television star in the 50s, working alongside famous Western hero The Only Rifleman to stop a band of train bandits from delaying the 6:15 Express.

World 4: Racing Stripes
During the middle of the game's story, Halfwit returns to his old life as a racer. Only this time, he has to learn how to drive a car really quickly.

World 5: Aw, Horsefeathers
Halfwit is reborn as a winged horse, and has to save Persephone from becoming an egotistical brat.

World 6: Under the Seabiscuit
Halfwit is reborn as a hippocampus, who must come to grips with the relative lack of gravity at his disposal and use it to free the Seventh Mermaid of Pensicola.

World 7: Cut! That's a Wrap!
The most fantastical world for Halfwit, and also the most metatextual, where he's an actor trying to gather his paycheck as it flutters through a windy breeze.

After evolving numerous different times in his life, Halfwit is sent back to the Greek Pantheon and is given a choice: Return to the land of the living that he once called home, but lose his memories of the events, or ascend to the Pantheon as a speaker for humanity, at the cost of his old life.

If the player selects Halfwit returning to life, the horse uses his adventures to create a new lease on his personality. But if the player selects the "speaking for humans" option, Halfwit sees a new racer take the position of Best Driver away from him as he looks down on Earth like it's reality television.

BONUS: Halfwit Horse in Smash
In the confines of Super Smash Bros., Halfwit Horse would be an Assist Trophy, where his consciousness splits into fragments, allowing his reincarnations to stampede over the opponents, regardless of biology.

Job #009 Voting:
  1. Pokemon Warriors seems like the kind of game that'd just be a world of fun to mess around with. Like mentioned, it's well-tread territory, but I think that kind of lends to it forming really well in the mind.
  2. Pokemon Boxing seems really fun too, and I really like the wordplay involved with the name. Escaping the box seems fun, and I'm honestly really intrigued as to how Mimikyu specifically would work in a 3D platformer...
  3. Pokemon Zoo Simulator would be really cool in concept! I'm not sure (based on the way it's written) whether you'd specifically be focusing on aquatic Pokemon, but even if that's the case, I'd be fine with some kind of Pokemon Endless Ocean-like. Cool idea.
Job #010 Submission; Let's go with King Arthur, from the Arthuria series.

1744582969227.png

Originally developed in the late 80s by the then-obscure British company Citrussoft, Arthuria would be a prominent launch title for their Limewire system - unique in the British market for promoting itself as a console, rather than a microcomputer. Despite the focus of Arthuria being on a retelling of Arthurian myth, the game's mechanical premise was fairly simple - hold one of two action buttons down to "focus" on a weapon or shield and use the joystick to point them in a direction, and hold both action buttons down simultaneously to stop your movement for greater focus.

The emphasis on real-time combat - coupled with extensive secrets and hidden elements throughout Morrigan the Fey's strange Otherworld - would lend to the game developing a minor fanbase, not least because of its surprisingly large cast of characters from Arthurian myth hidden within Otherworld's depths, who can be rescued to grant new magical abilities - focused specifically on puzzle-solving and traversal rather than being more offensively-centred, and in some cases, capable of changing Otherworld to allow progression to new zones, akin to the search-action genre.

(Many of these characters would become playable in future games with their own abilities, but the same concept - a mix of platforming, secret-finding, and real-time combat - would continue to be at the core of Arthuria, even in the trailblazing early-online MUD Arthuria's Round Table, and the somewhat maligned first-person dungeon-crawler Arthuria 3D: Chasms of Tintagel.)

Of course, Arthur himself would be the main appeal for this job. Arthuria set itself apart from its contemporaries by allowing for the use of Arthur's sword and shield in unique ways, such as the shield being used to bounce along spikes and slide down inclines, while his sword could be used to increase his jump height like a vaulting pole, or as a lever to lift objects like large boulders. These elements, coupled with the initially minor magic system that started out mostly as a means of solving environmental puzzles but would grow in scope with the introduction of characters like Merlin as playable characters, would make him stand out alongside his contemporaries in the "scrimblo" side of things - but also lend what would otherwise be a quite simple game quite a lot of interactivity.

1744583658540.png

Note that small, shrunken-down look. It's pretty much canon! The developers were inspired by toy dolls when designing it.

Job #010 Bonus: Arthur is... unplayable in Smash. Sorry. However, in recognition of later Arthuria titles being Nintendo-exclusives from late in the DS's lifespan onward, and after the release of the Citrussoft Cocktail compilation on 3DS, he would be included as an Assist Trophy - using his shield to block enemy attacks and defend his summoner, then his sword to strike with powerful attacks of his own. The series would also receive a handful of Spirits in Ultimate, though these would mostly be centred on characters appearing in the first game - namely Arthur himself, Lancelot, Morrigan the Fey, and the Lady of the Lake (based on her Resurrected Arthuria appearance, inexplicably.)

Circus Chaos
A 3D Platformer and Collect-a-Thon. Starring an anthropomorphic circus lion named Leo who runs away from the circus after discovering that the circus is being controlled by a race of alien clowns and a evil ring leader who wish to use the circus to mind control the world. They have enslaved the animals and performers under mind control and Leo must free them. Once Leo frees them, they can then be used in the next world, kind of like the animal buddies from Donkey Kong Country.

The game features standard platform controls, with jumping and the use of Leo's claws for both melee attacks and wall jumping. Leo also has a roar which can be used to stun enemies and for doing puzzles. The roar can be upgraded. Peanuts are the games currency. Each world features a new character who you can call on, who will act as a companion for that world. These are unlocked by feeding them from mind control at the end of the previous world.

The game is structured into worlds, with each world having five levels and a boss. The levels can be done in any order, think like Crash Bandicoot, though all must be down to face the boss, which takes place inside a mini circus. You collect circus tickets, needing 100 to unlock the final area and boss. Beating the boss frees that character, and they appear as a partner character for the next world. Each worlds has a mini hub world that you CNA explore between levels .There are eight worlds + the final world.

Worlds -
  1. Forest Fun - The typical woodlands level. The boss here is a bear on a unicycle. Defeating him frees him from the mind control, same with all the following.
  2. Peanut Temple - A temple themed world. The boss here is a monkey who bangs drums.
  3. Ocean Blue - A water themed level. Boss here is a seal who bounces a ball on his nose.
  4. Sky High - A sky themed world full of clouds. The animal unlocked here are a pair of bird acrobats.
  5. City of Lights- A Paris themed World. The boss here is an elephant who uses ballerina dancing.
  6. Sahara Sunrise - A desert themed level. The boss here is a donkey who jumps around and kicks.
  7. Scruffy Suburbs - A modern city level. Boss here is a juggling dog.
  8. Jungle Jumpin' - A jungle themed world. Boss here is a Tiger who jumps through rings of fire.
  9. Big Top Bust - The final world. Leo uses all the animal abilities to defeat the clowns and face off with the alien ringmaster. In the end the animals retake the circus and re-open.

In Smash:
After the success of Circus Chaos: Greatest Show addition, a remastered version of the game, Leo in Smash became a meme online, which led to requests for his addition shooting up. It got enough that Nintendo took notice. They allowed his addition, in exchange for timed exclusivity on the upcoming sequel and a set of Amiibo. Leo is added to Smash as DLC along with a stage based on Big Top Bust. His moveset uses his claws, his roar and a few animal abilities.

In Smash:
After the success of Circus Chaos: Greatest Show addition, a remastered version of the game, Leo is added to Smash as DLC along with a stage based on Big Top Bust. His moveset uses his claws, his roar and a few animal abilities.

GAME PITCH CHALLENGE #011
Pitch a Pac-Man game... with a Twist!
This round is going to be a bit of a sequel to our Tetris challenge a while back. I want you to pitch a pac-man game with some sort of twist to it.

It doesn't have to be a maze game like the classics, though. You can kinda do whatever you want with the IP, as long as it's new! This means no direct sequels to other pac-man games, though you can borrow concepts and mechanics from them, as long as you add something fresh as the focus of the pitch.

As always, pitches close next monday. GOOD LUCK!

  1. King Arthur (Arthuria) - I have to say the amount of work put into creating this character and the world he inhabits is very pleasing to the senses. I'd even say Yacht Club Games might take this as much of an inspiration for Shovel Knight as DuckTales and Mega Man.
  2. Circus Chaos - As far as eye-catching platformer mascots are concerned, Leo the Lion is a compelling character, and this game does manage to engage my interest myself.
  3. Control the Robot - I'm mainly putting Control here because there's literally no other options left without voting for myself. However, that does not mean this is a bad design. I just think the similarities to Mega Man would remind general audiences of Mighty No. 9, thus putting up a hurdle right at the starting gates.
Pac-Man with a Twist

Pac-and-Slash
Platform: Nintendo Switch 2
Release: 2030

Set twenty years after the events of the Pac-Man mythos, the infinite chomper somehow spawned a child of his own to continue his lineage. At the start of the game, Pac-Man and Pac-Teen don't always see eye to eye with each other. (Sidenote: If anyone on this board watched Not Just a Goof, I envy you.)

However, despite their differences, they must learn to work together to stop a whole paranormal invasion with Clyde leading all the ghosts in the universe to attack their world. The trouble multiplies when Pac-Teen's whole family is kidnapped, including Pac-Man himself, leaving him to brave the ectoplasmic army all by himself, with just a butter knife for defense.

Along the way, you can equip new powerful weapons with help from Professor Pac, eventually going as far above as a multiversal scythe to reap the ghosts with. You can also visit the Pac-Cade, run by Pac-Grandma, and play classic Namco games.

Button Mapping:
L: Walk
R: Run
A: Select Level
B: Visit Arcade
X: Purchase Weapon
Y: Talk To NPC
Shoulders: Spin

Did you intend to post this without any gameplay pitches?

Pac-Man and The Ghost Cave is a puzzle/platformer game, the game tells that Professor Pac-Man said to Pac-Man that there is a myth of a hidden cave full of ghosts and Pac-Man have to go there, Pac-Man discovers that the myth is true and entered at the cave, inside the cave, he finds Pinky that she was separated from Inky, Blinky and Clyde but she can help Pac-Man to know about the cave, the game is similar to Pac-Man World series, but it is more focused on exploration, puzzles and it's semi open-world, Pac-Man and Pinky are both playable but they have different controls and movesets, Pac-Man can eat the enemies, jump, run and uses different items, and Pinky can float, attack, pass through walls invisible and creates platforms, also there are bosses in the game, and they have puzzle sessions too, incluining Inky, Blinky and Clyde

Challenge 11: Pac-Man X KataMari DaMacy
This would be a puzzle action game where Pac-Man would have to consume everything in sight, growing larger and more powerful as they consume.
The story mode would have the ghosts take down the town and Pac-Man be the only one to stop them.
During the game you can collect pellets that increase your size a little, and Power Pellets that make you invincible.
There would also be a multiplayer mode, where the largest player in the time limit wins.

Pac & Back
A rougelike take on the classic Pac-Man game. Players equip power pellets and other items before they enter the maze. Its classic Pac-Man gameplay, but with a larger, seemingly endless maze. The maze's order will be randomly generated each time, with random enemies spawning. Along with the ghosts, which also include later ghosts like the ones from ms. Pac-Man, there's also enemies such as Pooka, Flygar and Galaga. Effects may happen too. You collect power ups which can then be added to your loadout before the run starts. There are online leaderboards. Uses a classic 8-bit style.

May as well try and get something in again, though still not having an Internet connection is by no means ideal.
  1. Halfwit Horse seems like something that's so inherently silly in concept that I just go right around to thinking it's hilarious. Though, it's interesting as an exploration of the horse's role throughout human history.
  2. Circus Chaos is likewise a pretty fun take on the scrimblo concept with something that, honestly, feels like a really fitting setting and idea for the whole thing. I like the idea of all the animals being freed from mind-control, too. That's a cool touch.
  3. Control the Robot feels a little by-the-numbers, but I honestly appreciate the simplicity involved. Feels like it does a great job at being what it is.
As for Pitch #011... I think this could be fun.

Deep in the farthest reaches of space, a breach exists.
In our hubris, we sought to plumb this wound for power.
Yet, when we peered within... four pairs of eyes peered back.

When a weak distress call emanated from the asteroid-mining colony known as the Labyrinth, Paul Ackmann - a nearby scrapper exploring one of the nearby wrecked Orbitals - was attacked by a sudden swarm of bug-like creatures. Fighting his way through and arriving at the colony, he found it devoid of human life. But, with the UGSF undoubtedly on their way to respond, Ackmann's left with the harrowing task of determining the truth of the Labyrinth, with the help of tools and information left by its previous workers... before it's too late.

P. Ackmann's Labyrinth
(Namco, 2025)

Long story short; a Pac-Man platformer "metroidvania". You play as Paul Ackmann, distinguishable due to his distinctive yellow suit, and armed with an experimental drill acquired from a close friend during his time on Earth. Progressing through the Labyrinth, you'll equip various new items and abilities based on various classic Namco arcade titles, as well as having to fend off against the insectoid creatures from within the Breach - being, of course, based heavily on the Galaxian series. On top of all of this... four energy-draining "Spectres" are travelling aimlessly around the Labyrinth, and must be avoided or faced with the tools at hand. Of course, Ackmann's unprepared for this at first, but if he can find one of the colony's energy sources, he may stand a chance...

Some weapons, items, and abilities could include;
  • Drill Gun - Inspired by Dig Dug (1982). Ackmann's main weapon, it's a combined drill/pile bunker with the ability to repeatedly drill into enemies nearby, or fire off bits as projectiles that must be picked up. It's also capable of tunneling through rock with an upgrade, but can't tunnel through metal.
  • Miru - Inspired by Pac & Pal (1983). A rare example of a non-harmful Spectre, Miru bonds to Ackmann despite her lack of communicative skills, and joins him in his exploration. She can drain the power around her in a manner similar to the other four Spectres, and is also very adept at determining their location. (It's otherwise possible by looking for regions with no power on your map.)
  • Sonic Cannon - Inspired by Mappy (1983). A tool devised by one of the Labyrinth's security officers to harmlessly disrupt intruders utilising pressurised soundwaves. When fired at enemies, it momentarily stuns them - though other enemies are highly receptive to the sound and will become agitated.
  • Blue Crystal - Inspired by The Tower of Druaga (1984). A lighting system featured throughout Labyrinth, of which a handheld variant is found at the very bottom of a structure deep below the colony. It lights up dark places and always orients itself "upward" in relation to Labyrinth's artificial gravity, and has the unique property of being immune to the energy-draining effects of the Spectres.
  • FLAGG - Inspired by Rally-X (1980). Effectively works as a checkpoint system, of which Ackmann can carry up to three at a time, and "plant" into the ground. Should Ackmann be killed while holding at least one FLAGG, he'll respawn intact at any other FLAGG he's placed down. (If not, he'll respawn at his ship.)
Think of the game as having a sort of cross in terms of visuals with something like Super Metroid while leaning hard into the space opera vibe seen in 2001: A Space Odyssey. The journey is, in some ways, quite cerebral - it is action-focused, but Ackmann's outlook on things will deteriorate over time, especially if exposed to the Spectres on multiple occasions. Ultimately, you'll need to destroy or dismiss the Spectres, seal the breach, and ensure it's safe for the UGSF to arrive - with a bad ending featuring various ships being overwhelmed by extradimensional forces.

Note that this is in no way intended to be a thematic ripoff of Shadow Labyrinth. The idea's moreso inspired by a few interesting takes on Pac-Man as an astronaut that I've seen in the past. Also, sorry for the lack of mockups this time around, the lack of Internet coupled with uni starting to wrap up has been running me through the wringer a little!
