I'm gonna start doing something new for this tournament.

There are going to be small side tournaments that will run all day. They will cost $5 to enter and will start as soon as there are 8 people signed up. It will be a single elimination tournament, use the same rule set as the main tournament and the winner takes $30.

Also... i'm doing a halo 2 tournament on Feb. 24th. Anybody here interested? Anybody know of a good forum to advertise a halo tourney?

Besides the people in that club at warren hs, I know a few people who would be interested, so I'll ask around.

And I'm diggin the mini tournys, since some people (like me) would stand a better chance and know that Caveman or Rob$ won't cream them and win the prize money.

Yes, the people over at Gamelot bought 8 tvs for these tournaments because I explained to them that TVs were always an issue, so that won't be as big a problem anymore. But if you can please bring a TV and a cube, but we really need cubes.

in double elimination, you get placements of 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 5, 7, 7, 9, 9, 9, 9, 13x4, 17x8, 25x8, etc

I'm not quite sure actually. I'll fix it, but you might not see exactly what I'm gonna do till tourney day (those prize layouts I make arn't accurate anyways, they're just an idea of what I expect to payout, if attendance is different it will be something similar)

Forkgirl, yeah, I guess we can do any game and any format you want to do, provided you can get 8 people to agree. I just figured everybody would assume I meant tournament style smash.

i always lose playing it with people on DS. I always seem to get about 20 rows pushed to me at once

I've never done it... but I talked to a guy who's been to a DDR tourney and you play a random stage on a predetermined difficulty (most likely standard or heavy, and it stays at that difficulty the entire tourney) one game per match and first to die loses. If both players survive the song, highest score wins.

I don't know about Tetris DS though... triple T-spins are broken and insanely hard to do...

It should be a decent size, the first tourney was 20 and 2nd was 22 so i'm hoping this one is bigger than both.
