Super Smash Bros. 64 needs its OWN section!

Pros:

- More in-dept subforums. All we got now is competive events.

- The circle is complete again. Just because it's older, doesn't mean it hasn't to be mentioned. ( Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Super Smash Bros. Melee, hey, where's Super Smash Bros. 64? Oh, over there, that tiny itsy bitsy forum under the 'Gaming' section)

- Will most likely get people more enthousiastic for playing Smash64.

- The more people, the merrier.

Cons:

- Super Smash Bros. Brawl + Melee players will maybe feel 'offended' because suddenly that 'old sucky game with n00b graphics' just got its own section as well.

- Costs frontpage spage (lol)

- There's a chance it will steal players for .Melee and .Brawl

So tell me, why not?

This forum is fine, we don't need 64 players that can't handle the immensely difficult task of scrolling downwards from BRAWL CHAREKTER DISCUSSION first unread post : LOLOL i fuked luCario!! lol !!1 and noticing *gasp* other forums.

Also, character specific discussion and whatnot a la melee section just doesnt work here, we're too few.

Imho, the SSB64 community is too small and slow, and adding more sections just dilutes content.

That said, i would like to see it moved up the page, so that we get an appropriate Brawl -> Melee -> SSB64 thing happening. Hmm.

This guy is right. It's fine the way it is until we get atleast 4x as many visitors here lol. So if you want to see a bigger SMASH 64 forum section then advertise smash online everywhere!

I also agree that this forum should be moved up on the main page right below MELEE with the "competition forums" and the "General discussion of Smash 64 forums".

I agree, SSB64 should have its own section in the forums, not in "gaming" section.

BUT having only those two "general" and "competition" boards for the moment (otherwise it would be too diluted as someone said)

Surri you're mod, lets tell the admins gogogo xP

splitting the 64 section into character subsections etc would be stupid.

the community is nowhere near big enough that each section would probably be dead with like 1 thread each

Lol nvm people.

Imma get SSBM anyway >_>

Yea, it's kinda waste of money since I just bought a N64, but who cares.
I'll sell my PS2 with loads of games + extras for like €200,-

So no problem :D

The idea is not to split, but put the two already existant sections in the own "SSB64 group" instead of the "gaming group".
It should be much more visible in SWF. Now it is like, a little bit hidden i think :/

i agree with nixxxon, ssb64 should have its own board with two sections: the general section and the competitive section. when i first came on SWF, it took me a while to find the ssb64 section cuz it was pretty close to the bottom and on the gaming board

Smash 64 ftw. That's all. It should have it's own section for sure. =]

Let's definitely get the 64 community together. It'll be bigger than the Brawl community since they're all realize how much of a better game 64 is and just come play it instead. :D

This forum is fine, we don't need a bunch of new people posting here and messing up our discussions with their ignorance about this game.

Instead of advertising to the general viewers of smashboards by modifying this section, it would be more prudent to just spread the word though MSN or AIM to your friends, or even through word of mouth.

We need more knowledgeable smash players posting here, not just new posters, they mess up everything. Surri, you know -exactly- what I'm getting at. *cough matchup discussion*

And I still stand by my opinion that anyone who doesnt want to scroll downwards to find this forum shouldn't be posting here to begin with.

If this section had the volume of idiots that the brawl section has, I wouldn't post.

It's amazing how low the degree of ignorance is here in this forum compared to the barwl section.

Almost everyone here know what they are talking about when referring to the game itself. If not, they usually don't make stupid posts at all.

As much as I agree with you Dylan there are exceptions

We want fresh people to get into this game, and even though it does kinda dilute the "knowledge" of the game it also increases the chance of GOOD new people joining.

1/100 people is still better then 0/0

wow...

If a forum is useful is for increase people's knowledge, a forum is not really for wise people who are bored.

Everyone of us have been an ignorant noob at some time.

This board is so entrenched in the bowels of SWF, I still have trouble finding it sometimes. :D

Not like where the hex did it get to, but I have to scroll up and down a couple times to grab it. There's nothing that broadcasts any kind of clear "SSB64 this way" vibe, whereas if I wanted to find, say, Melee, there's a block of consecutive boards all of which have "Melee" in the title.

Smash 64 used to have it's own section. This whole thing here is different from when I used to come here. They must have removed it and replaced it with a single Smash 64 section like this some time after Brawl came out.

This is why we need people to put links in their sigs, to help people find smash64 :D

The other character boards for SSBM and SSBB are there to improve the Meta Game faster. This game has been out for quite a while and pretty much everything has been discovered.

Melee is an old game now too, look at their character disccussion forums. They're not nearly as big as they used to be.

Does anyone wish we had character guides like for Melee and Brawl? There wouldn't have to be a forum for each one, we could just have the sticky link to all of them.

Edit: I guess there are already some, but I always like reading them even if I already know everything they say. Though I guess with less character's it's easier to know all of them in depth.

I always find character guides to be essentially useless, just get better by playing as the character a lot and you won't need a guide.

I agree you can learn only so much from book learnin' but don't knock character guides. They can be very helpful in learning some of the more esoteric tricks with each character, and of course they can be helpful if you want to know stuff like exactly how much damage a particular attack does, since somebody's already gone and figured it out for you.

Here's one possible idea...it could kind of go:

SSBB SECTION

TOURNAMENT SECTION

SSBM SECTION

SSB64 SECTION
-SSB64 General Discussion
(-SSB64 Competitive Discussion - or within the General Discussion as it is now)
(-SSB64 Character Discussion - not split, but still discussion of characters individually)
SSB Back Room

Hopefully that's not incomprehensibly disorganized...

It makes sense, I think, but still doesn't get around the problem of having too few users. Then again, if it were higher up, maybe it would GET more users.

There's not even alot to talk about for SSB64, just online mode, characters, and stages. What more can you talk about. Thus, this section can fit anything SSB64.

ssb64 needs its own category
you don't have to make new sections like character discussion but just have the main discussion and competitive or whatever there is now exposed in the front page for more recognition

category
[Super Smash Bros. 64]=======
sections
[Super Smash Bros. 64 Main]

[Competitive SSB64]

etc

Top Bottom
