It's kind of stupid the backlash that this move received, it was a very good move back in Brawl. Never understood why they removed it in Project M.

Because it looked stupid as ****. You could use a different animation and get the same/similar utility. There's no reason for him to randomly pull out a damn boulder and bash his head against it. It's way too off the wall and derpy for my taste. And don't try to make a huge list of all the other derpy stuff in Smash. I'm aware of them and those do not invalidate my opinion on the matter.

True, your opinion isn't invalidated. Misguided and close-minded are better terms to describe it.
I'm loving the reasons people are giving so far for the move being "bad". "There is no reason to pull a boulder out of nowhere", "too derpy for my taste". It's basically "the move doesn't cater specifically to my personal preferences therefore is STOOPID". Well excuuuuuuse me, princess.

I would main rock smash. But now that it's a down-B I bet it will be more like a "I'm flailin' mai rocks at the ground at u!" instead of the infinitely superior "I'm smashin rocks on my head at u!!"

This move looks like an hd version of the fire spin they added as his fly follow up in project m.
