Nah, it certainly doesn't kill the game. I'm not in the slottist camp who's going to blame a clone's inclusion for the loss of another character. It is, admittedly, a knee-jerk reaction to getting excited for a new character reveal only to have it turn out to be not so exciting. At worst, it makes playing Random a bit stale because it increases the odds of getting a very similar character, but that's a pretty minor complaint. Sorry to keep you thirsty

Robin looks really interesting though, but I wonder what his/her late game viability is like. After he runs out of tome stock, does he have reliable kill options, or does he have to play defensive until they refresh?

It is, admittedly, a knee-jerk reaction to getting excited for a new character reveal only to have it turn out to be not so exciting.

Every reveal, someone'll be in that position.

EX: Ray Man. I wanted him. But his deconfirmation ON THE REVEAL DAY hurt. I'm hoping by small chance Sakurai is just teasing and reveals him in the future, unlikely as that is.

The problem with Clones, especially ones like Lucina, don't really add anything new to a game except minor differences. Why have a copy paste character with little differences to the original when you could have a unique character with an entirely new moveset? Of course, we don't have to play them if we don't want, but it just means that it was a lost opportunity for another character (not saying Chrom, as he'd probably be the same thing). I'm sure people would not have been upset with Lucina if she had an entirely different moveset

Personally, I don't want Dark Pit in the game, as I feel there's better choices of characters to choose from. Again, if he's in the game, I'll have to just deal.

Guys, this is smash bros, not street fighter; there will probably be over 10 new characters in this game, 2 clones won't hurt the series, unlike street fighter where the only "new character" announced for ultra was a clone of cammy while the rest of the characters were from earlier games.

Well by that argument he can use every FE Move ever because Robin can reclass into literally ANY class in the game you want him to be.

I know he/she can. Honestly I like the female avatar's character better than the male one's overall in awakening. The Male and Female Robin have actually have noticeably different personalities outside of the 30% or so lines they share verbatum in the story. How they each handle the Chrom support talks is one of the easiest ways to see the differences in their personalities. I still like male Robin too, but female just has more depth/character development IMO.

lucina was originally just going to be a marth alt, but sakurai put in a little extra work to make her her own character. i honestly dont get why anyone is complaining.

I actually like Male Robin from a gameplay standpoint because he can have more children than Female Robin can... he can have two children with several women, whereas Female Robin can only have two kids with Chrom... and can't pass on her hair to Lucina.

Robin can literally use dark magic is one of their ally is a dark pegasus and have that ability that let all mage can use dark magic freely.

Anyway... Sceptile CONFIRMED and can use Giga Drain the oppenent to restore health! Remember the closer the more damage you do and more health you do.

In Awakening, only Dark Mages, Sorcerers, and those with the Shadow Gift skill (basically, Aversa and her POSSIBLE daughter if Robin marries Aversa). Robin can only use Dark Magic if he is a Sorcerer or a Dark Mage. Dark Pegasus Riders cannot use Dark Magic sadly. Aversa is the exception because she has the Shadow Gift skill by default.

You're forgetting that Female Robin can learn Gale force. That alone makes her 50 times more valuable then male Robin. Seriously, kill a enemy unit then heal a team member. Kill a enemy, rescue a NPC. Kill a unit, kill another unit. It's OP. THEN have MALE Morgan inherit it? Game is officially broken. LoL

On topic. I can't wait to main Robin. Was looking forward to Lucina but after her disappointing showing at least Robin will make it all better.

Sakurai said that Lucina wasn't planned as a newcomer. She only became one bcuz they twirked her characteristics.

Actually, that is not how it works. Lucina's absence wouldn't have meant that another newcomer with a different moveset would have been in her place instead. The only difference would be the lack of Lucina and I'm sure most agree that is better to have her than not having her at all.

Actually, if the widely believed rumors are true, a char was cut while making the game and so they put Lucina in so they wouldnt reduce the number of chars. If this is true, Lucina DOES take away an opportunity.
