I'm done...
This is not something I often do, but here is my GIF reaction:

Well, I am quite sad, I must say. Ghirahim has always been my most wanted character. I supported him long before I even joined this forum. It's crazy to think he's finally done.

That said, I'm not too terribly distraught. I had a gut feeling it was going to happen, and at the very least, he is in Hyrule Warriors, and he looks very fun at that.

Cheers! :urg:
At least he is IN the game, no need to cry over the fact he isn't playable, you'll see him jumping around and assisting you, you don't understand how many characters I would wish for just to be a trophy in the game *cough* banjo and kazooie *Cough*

Today we weep, brothers and sisters of the Debbiehood.

But we shall not stop believing, as the dream of smash never truly dies, it just waits to see the light of another installment.

you're talking the impossible there that's like saying rayman actually was a nintendo playable character atleast ghirahim would had more chance then to characters bought out by another company

I can't help but feel happy because I never wanted him playable even for a moment. Not that I have anything against him it's just that he's a 1-shot villain from a game I didn't even play. It's just 1 more character I don't have to worry about getting in over the 3 in my signature.

that isn't impossible, look at ray man, he's a trophy, and banjo and kazooie where considered in smash 64, a trophy could be possible
Edit: and dude, all I'm saying is he should be happy one of his favorite characters made it to smash in some way, I know banjo might never make it, so he should be grateful

They're owned by microsoft so I sadly don't see that happening

Didn't really want him playable, so I'm happy he's an assist trophy. There really isn't anything new he would bring to the table anyway.

do you hear of what you're saying? smash 64 was release in 1999 banjo and conkers ips were bought in september 2002 around and between that time keeping characters who were already planned to be given to a company wouldn't make since at all

Chrom, check.
Takamaru, check.
Ghirahim, check.
Shulk,
It would be funny if all leak members are disconfirmed and then unexpected unleaked characters are added. Hey that includes Isaac! That makes me excited :)

I liked Ghirahim as a one-off villain in SS, but having him playable would have been like Zant being on the Brawl roster. He is cool in his own right, but not even the main villain in the only (main series) game he is in. I like him as an AT though.

But seriously, can we get an official reveal for Kalos elite 4 stage? It's gorgeous and I want to learn more about how it works.

AH! That picture is awesome! I'm seeing the probability of Impa's chances at appearing in smash increase more and more everyday! I really think If we are to get another Zelda character, Impa is the best bet :)

Also I feel for all my fellow Ghirahim supporters! I had a gut feeling he was gonna be put as an assist trophy, but i kept my hopes up. But as always my hopes were let down, but hey at least he is an Assist trophy :D

1 Main appearance isn't going to get your most wanted character a playable spot on the roster, this all but confirms Ganondorf will be reclaiming his roster spot very soon.
Ahem.... Robin? Lucina? Greninja? Ike? SHEIK?!

I mostly agree with you actually... but I didn't want Ghirahim to replace Ganondorf, I wanted BOTH of them. If it came down to only having one, I'd take Ganondorf NO doubt.... even if he retains his slow Falcon moves.

Oh, and don't forget everyone... we CAN still play as him!

While Ghirahim would have been a nice addition, the Zelda universe in Smash cannot be completed without Ganondorf. That would mean two Triforce-carrying characters, without one carrying the Triforce of Power. The three characters have long since permeated this theme in their games.

^-^

Not terribly sad to see him go. I know he has a large fanbase and I feel bad for those who wanted him to make it, but I never really expected anything more than an AT.

Is it just me or does Ghirahim look kind of... gigantic? It might be a weird angle or something but his forearm looks roughly the same length as Link's torso.

But they're completely different, Every fire emblem game has a different set of characters, very few of them are reoccurring. Greninja will appear in every pokemon game from now on and sheik is zelda, that's why she's in

I now officially dislike this game and Sakurai for doing this. There was so much potential for this character and I feel like Sakurai needs to step down from Nintendo and Smash and let someone who actually knows what they're doing take his place. He butchered Brawl and he's butchered Smash 4! The very name of the game betrays a lack of competence when it comes to the gaming industry. If he had any clue he'd know that many of the ex-fans of the game like me wanted this character.
A moveset could've been made for this character with less than ten minutes thought:
Jab: a punch and a turnaround kick like with his final form (first hit: (5%) keeps them in place for a grab or the second hit: (10%) a very horizontal semi-spike.
F-tilt: (13%) a scissor slice that sends opponents up and behind him, has a lot of reach
Up-tilt: (10%-17%) Shoots a short-ranged Diamond Strike upwards. The disc is very large. Multi-hit move
D-tilt: (2%) Crouches and shoots short-ranged daggers very low to the ground. Can be done in rapid succession.
Dash attack: (13#) Swings upward twice

F-smash: (10%-15%,11%-16%) Two horizontal swings, he takes a step forward for each and each one can be angled. Second hit KOs.
Up-smash: (15%-25%) Black crystals surround him as he charges, then release in a pillar of them upwards when released. Best KO move.
D-smash: (9%-13%) Teleports in place, granting a few frames of invulnerability, pops foes upward at a 45 degree angle.

Pummel: (4%) Daggers he has with him launch into the character grabbed each time you pummel.
F-throw: (6%) Teleports the grabbed character a middling distance away
Up-throw: (0%) Throws opponent upward, no damage because this move ALWAYS can be followed up with a successful Up-tilt
D-throw: (5%) Knees opponent forward, they slide along the ground, tilts can be used as followups.
B-throw: (4%) Shoves them behind them and shoots any daggers he has left into their back, daggers do more damage than usual

Side-b: (17%) Does a running charge that can be canceled with a jump, attack, or up-b
Up-b: (3%) Teleports in any direction, very fast, when teleporting from or into the air it can be canceled with any aerial.
Down-b: (multiplier damage is 1.5, multiplier KB is 1.2) Purple electric aura around his hands, holding the button down allows him to walk around slowly. If hit in the front he will spin around the opponent and kick them in the back, if hit in the back he will take normal damage and KB. Cannot be used in midair. KOs well.
Neutral-b: (6%) Summons daggers that stay with him. Holding the button spawns more daggers, tapping it releases one. They have slight homing, if he's grabbed then he can use the daggers to hit the character grabbing him. Aerial version may be angled diagonally downward.

Fair: (9%) Scissor slice diagonally in front of him. Weak semi-spike
Up-air: (13%,6%) Two slices up and behind him. Two input move, both hits used for juggling.
Dair: (14%) Stabs downward with downward momentum. Sends opponents upward. Can be jump-canceled.
Bair: (16%) Swings giant sword behind him, covers 180 degrees. Turns Ghirahim around.

All VERY valid points. In fact I thought everything you said while I was making my post. LOL. My opinion still stands...Ness is another example of characters from only 1 game...(I think...) Popularity of a character must factor into the decisions about playable characters, and Ghirahim is nothing if not popular! (Just not popular enough I suppose!)

Earthbound doesn't have a main recurring protagonist so that doesn't count

How can you say that? he's the only one that can make smash what it is. If it wasn't for him it wouldn't exist. He made a smart decision not putting him in, ghirahim will be irrelevant pretty soon, being replaced by another one-time villain

he may not have been on my top ten but at least now he can beat me to an inch of my life for not putting him there. R.I.P Ghirahim
