This is so exciting! I wonder what surprises wait for me in the world of Super Smash Brothers 4! I can't wait to try out all the custom special moves! :D I wonder what Peach's moves are! I wonder!

  • Several of Mega Man's other attacks, most noticeably his Uair and Crash Bomb (though the latter has a different button placement)
  • The Blue Shell item, down to its function and animation
  • The Cucco item, down to its function and animation
It's the Cucco that convinces me most of all of a correlation, as it is the least obvious of an addition.
Not to sound like a jerk, but I really do think it's just a coincidence. Many people have been asking for a Cucco item for a while and the blue shell wasn't an uncommon suggestion. As for their function, how else would they function? They work like they do in the games. It makes sense for MM to have the moves he does because they're pretty iconic. He still plays very differently in both games. That said, there's no way to prove whether he knows about it either way.

You're grasping too hard. As I've said to another user with the same argument (probably you):

Uair in SSF2 and in Smash4 are different moves. One is an ice projectile and the other is air man's attack. Crash bomb was a pretty obvious choice of move as well.

The blue shell only has one function: to home in on another player, notably, the one who's winning. They don't share an 'animation' either. SSF2's flys up and out of the screen and crashes down randomly on the target later on. Smash4's clearly hovers directly above who it's trying to hit before crashing down.

The Cucco only has 2 fucntions: to extend cliff jumps by allowing you to glide while holding one, or to attack the player if they attacked first. SSF2 mimicked those conditions exactly. Smash4? Nah, just throw it and whoever it hits will get swarmed. You want to know why Smas4 did it this way? Because nobody is blatantly going to attack the cucco on purpose. The repercussion is more than obvious.

And how is the cucco not an obvious item addition? It's a staple zelda product with a definitive function. If anything, had it not showed up as an assist summon (which it's function would fit in perfectly), it would be an item. I guess hyrule warriors is meatriding some other zelda game for having cuccos too, right?

What I meant was that they have to re-think strategies, such as jumping over Pit's arrows might not be the best because of the increased control or other stuff like that, should edit that in quickly
Ah! Then yes exactly. It's insufficent to know a matchup, we'll spend years figuring out how some moves help to counter other moves, change the playstyle of a character, etc. Love it!

Glad to see that not every customization (besides Mii and Palutena) is a slight variation on the original move.

I really hope these aren't banned in tourneys. The unpredictabiliy is equal for both players.

Ganondorf's reveal was temporarily compensated by Meta Knight. Please understand.

Otherwise, it's nice to see that Palutena and Miis aren't the only one's with varied customization. Mario's, Donkey Kong's, and Marth's were all a tad underwhelming. I'm cautiously optimistic to see what they can do with Link, Samus, Sonic, Robin, and the other character's associated with a varied arsenal of weaponry.
Yeah, Link will probably be able to use ice/fire arrows for his neutral special

I will be PO if the links don't get elemental or bomb arrows.

All I see is an explosion. A blue explosion. Then I turn the game off.

I don't care what it's called, screw whatever it's called.

I was wondering when Beat was going to be confirmed as an up-special.

Who agrees Beat should have been Megaman's Up Special to begin with.

Look at Beat. Do you see that face? That is the face of determination. The sheer willpower to be an efficient recovery shines through, and will power him through his five-seconds-at-a-time on screen appearances.

Just glad that they didn't forget about him, though. What other Mega-Man fanservices will we see? Only time will tell!

Plantman. The guy always knows how to creep into my favourite games one way or another.

I'm gonna make my own tournament with amiibos, custom moves, and all stages allowed. There will be two separate tourneys, one with items, and one without. Every man/woman for him/herself! No babyish banning and no bull****.

If Megaman is getting a Beat Up-B, wouldn't it be cool if Sonic got a Tails Up-B?? All these custom moves are going to blow my mind...
