It's happening!
I wonder what custom up B #3 will be though. Rush jet? the ball weapon thing from MM8?

Call me want you want but I honestly hope we see some more Mega Man X and Battle Network representation. I loved the first 3 Battle Network Games and Mega Man X through X7 has to be my favorite games in the Mega Man series.

Please, based Sakurai... Give unto us Ultimate X color scheme!

This is awesome. With the possibility of other characters getting unique alternative moves I am much more excited about customization!

Why Plant Barrier? It´s the worst shield weapon in the series.. (give us Jewel Satellite instead) :3

Beat is Mega Man's up special in Super Smash Flash 2.

Now nothing can convince me that Sakurai hasn't at least seen it.
I've never played Smash Flash 2, and when Mega Man was announced my first thought for his Up B was Beat. Beat is an item that (in a few games) PULLS YOU OUT OF PITS BACK ONTO THE STAGE. Anyone who has played Mega Man games would think of this.

I've only played up to Mega Man 2 so far because I still haven't actually managed to complete 2 yet, but that's not the point. The point is that this is just the latest in a series of coincidences that's really starting to look more like a pattern.

Oh cool! If Megaman is going to possibly have moves from other bosses in the series though... Which ones are the most popular and likely additions to his custom moves?

Have to say I was a little worried when we saw DK's alternate standard B attack that custom moves would just be the regular move with a different effect - very happy to be proven wrong! ^_^

On a slightly random note, aside from Diddy Kong have there been many other characters that have revealed to coincide with a game's release? Otherwise I'm not sure why people were expecting Ganondorf today...
Olimar, Dedede, Zelda and (Kinda) Sonic and Luigi were revealed to coincide with a game's release. I might have forgotten someone though.

What other coincidences are you referring to?

Really, Sakurai? Plant Barrier? One of the WORST weapons in the series?
...That's irrelevant. It doesn't matter how "bad" a weapon or move in their home series is, it doesn't mean that is going to be terrible.
Rock Smash is a extremely useless fighting-type attack in pokemon yet it's one of Charizard's best moves in Smash.

  • Several of Mega Man's other attacks, most noticeably his Uair and Crash Bomb (though the latter has a different button placement)
  • The Blue Shell item, down to its function and animation
  • The Cucco item, down to its function and animation

It's the Cucco that convinces me most of all of a correlation, as it is the least obvious of an addition.

Ganondorf's reveal was temporarily compensated by Meta Knight. Please understand.

Otherwise, it's nice to see that Palutena and Miis aren't the only one's with varied customization. Mario's, Donkey Kong's, and Marth's were all a tad underwhelming. I'm cautiously optimistic to see what they can do with Link, Samus, Sonic, Robin, and the other character's associated with a varied arsenal of weaponry.

It seems that the "they have to keep the same animations thing continues to be true, since he still has the rush recovery animation, and the leaf shield animation.

Customs would improve the possible meta. I have next to no knowledge about the tiers and stuff, but I think that if everyone gets a different custom, you have to adapt. Survival of the fittest: Smash version
' I have no clue regarding how tiers and MUs works which deal with the meta, but i have absolute conviction that Custom moves will improve the possible meta a.k.a the thing i know absolutely nothing about.'

A guess, I gathered a slight bit of info on how metas are made, so I thought about this and I think customs should be implimented, so that you wouldn't be able know your opponents strategy right off the bat, because you can't get used to a certain special anymore

You're reaching too far, his/her statement was reasonable. You don't need to be super on top of the metagame to appreciate that character-customization adds depth to the meta. It means more options, more ways for a player to adapt to any situation.

What was your point?

I disagree, I think the players should know each others' movesets before a match begins. You each choose your characters, then you each choose your specials. It's not a secret, but you have the option to configure your character before the match.

What I meant was that they have to re-think strategies, such as jumping over Pit's arrows might not be the best because of the increased control or other stuff like that, should edit that in quickly

Oh please. Beat was already a pretty obvious choice for an alternatr up special for megaman.

First Rosalina gets highly differentiated customs, and now Mega Man. My two mains seem to be getting a lot of Sakurai's love. :p

In fact, Palutena's don't look as differentiated as I thought.
