I'm dreading the possibility of a challenge to beat Classic on 9.0 with the whole roster.

In fact I'm dreading what challenges await in general. The 3DS ones weren't really hard but still tedious beyond belief especially when the "Do whatever mode with everyone" challenges popped up. Couple that with how long 100% Brawl took and how much bigger the roster is now, crap. It's gonna be a long brutal road ahead.

Completionists who don't like any ugly zeroes anywhere will have to finish:

Classic
All-Star
Crazy Orders
Multi-Man Smash
HRC
Target Blast (All three levels)
Event Mode (Wherever character selection is permitted)
Trophy Rush

Using every member of the cast. I'm going to be busy for a looooooong time.

I've beaten Boss Battles on Intense in Brawl twice (with :fox:), and I'm not even very good at Smash Bros.

You slackers need to step up your game. :p
If you have done that, then you are very good at the game, that is fact. Much better than you imply you are with your post here.

I would have completed Brawl's challenges but I had to start a new file on Wii U, so I had to start again.

I beat Intense Boss Battles with Sonic again though, so I at least have that going for me.

It would be pure suicide if a challenge like that ever happened, and it would be even more brutal if it's Golden Hammer immune.

But considering that the 8.0 intensity challenge has you needing to use less fighters than the 2.0 intensity challenge, there appears to be some remorse on the difficulty. Though I can't say the same for All-Star mode when you have to beat the Hard difficulty as much as three times if you don't use Ike or Duck Hunt on your first attempt.

There's a "Clear 9.0 Classic without losing a stock" challenge.

Regarding a unlockable Masterpiece

You can get the Earthbound Masterpiece by hitting 1968 ft. in Homerun Contest
Wait, exactly that number, or can you go past that?
If exactly: Well, crap. Time to use a golden hammer.

There's a "Clear 9.0 Classic without losing a stock" challenge.

Let the suffering begin.
Let's hope a custom Ganondorf can do it.

If that challenge is Golden Hammer immune, then it definitely will be pure evil.

It's already bad enough that just clearing "Classic on intensity 9.0", in general, is Golden Hammer immune.

Now that quite a few people have the game, does anyone have a full list of challenges?

I got extremely lucky with a custom Ganon and did this a week or two ago, only having taken 79% when I beat Master Core. Can't believe I have to do it again. -_-

I'm imaging Sakurai sitting at home sipping a cup of tea laughing menacingly into the air. Iwata comes in to congratulate him on a job well done.

Sakurai:It is complete. These fools want Ridley? Try unlocking all the challenges and maybe I'll consider him for future DLC.

That's not good. I couldn't even defeat Master Core on intensity level 9.0 without losing a life in Smash 3DS, and considering that you'll be facing as many as 7 fighters in a single stage in Smash Wii U's Classic mode, you're almost certain to lose a life, if not both.

Sometimes I wonder why you're given Golden Hammers when you can't even use them as a scapegoat in the first place. Kirby Air Ride was never like that, as the only checklist objectives that were immune to free checks were the ones where you had to complete 100 objectives, unlock all the Dragoon parts, and unlock all the Hydra parts; you could still use the free checks on the objectives that unlock a part for the Dragoon/Hydra though.

At least customizations are permitted, so you can work on equipment grinding to try to get the best equipment for the job. Just remember that negative defenses can make your fighter lighter than default Jigglypuff, along with increasing the amount of damage he/she takes.

I'm just waiting for another challenge to appear that says, "Clear Classic on 9.0 with Jigglypuff without customizations." :p

I've got all the challenges for Brawl, all but the time in Smash-mode for 3DS, and will endeavor to get all of these. You know... in like a month.

I'm not too worried about the 8 player stages in Classic. Just let them all KO each other, and move in when ready to start ffighting.

Makes me wonder what the reward will be for this challenge. It has to be really satisfying, otherwise it will anger many people.

Hopefully better than the 3DS version's challenge reward for Beating Classic on 9.0 or higher; a trophy from a game I didn't even recognise.

It's probably a joke reward, similar to how clearing Boss Battles on the Intense difficulty in Brawl only rewarded you with the Galleom (Tank Form) trophy.

Just heard of another challenge:

Get 4 KOs in solo Cruel Smash using Pit.

I legitimately wouldn't even know how to go about beginning to strategize for that one.

Just remember to hold off on using the Golden Hammers unless you actually need to use them.

Interestingly, for the challenge where you have to hit Sandbag between 1640 and 1656 ft., I somehow pulled it off with Peach.

Fly around under the bottom of the stage and let them wander off. Best thing I can think of.

So is there any value at all to the non true all-star mode?

It seems like besides those specific challenges that call for it it pays to beat all-star before unlocking everyone.

Chances are, if you unlock the True All-Star mode, you'll still be able to complete the All-Star mode challenges that don't require everyone to be unlocked.

sooo the challenges are REALLY ****in hard in this game.

i can see four in the second-to-top row and they are:
- clear crazy orders after 20 turns w/mario
- perfect every target blast stage
- 700 unique trophies
- 50000 total blocks in trophy rush (really this one is just a grind but still)

at this rate anyone who clears the top row is probably a competitive smasher with LOTS of time on their hands.

They don't ever go off the stage of their own accord now, so you need to actually hit them if you want to KO them.

However, they're pretty bad at getting back if you do knock them off, and sometimes just neglect to jump until they've fallen too far, so I wouldn't be surprised if you can just pull them offstage with a ledge hopped uair.

The first two will be a massive challenge, especially the former with the 10-minute time limit, AND the difficulty increase with each turn. But the latter two are not so bad, as your only requirement is to grind for the trophies, along with playing Trophy Rush a lot.

I should probably warn everyone that you think that "scoring 4 KOs in Cruel Smash with Pit" is bad, there's actually a challenge where you have to "score 8 KOs in Cruel Smash". And much like what Rakurai stated, unlike with Brawl's Fighting Alloys, you can't bait the Fighting Miis into self-destructing themselves.

So if you get the true mode you can revert it back to the easier mode?
Not quite. If I'm right, if you unlock True All-Star mode, any normal All-Star mode challenges that you have yet to complete can still be completed through True All-Star mode.

Well ****, so is there a list to consult? I don't wanna do the long one more than necessary.

There's apparently a challenge where you have to clear Classic Mode on intensity level 7.0 or higher with all the fighters. That truly feels absurd if you're lousy with certain fighters.

Well, these challenges keeps you away from beating the game 100% in a week.

His side-B can be spammed in the air, so hovering at the edge and using that might be the way to go. That said, I've yet to get even 1 KO that way.

These challenges are ridiculous.

I strongly disagree. I want the really hard challenges to hide obscure trophies that I don't really care about. I don't want the trophies that I actually want to be trapped behind impossible challenges, I want to actually be able to get them. Having the satisfaction of beating the challenge is reward enough, and it's not something that will make me terribly upset if I never actually beat it.

That one shouldn't be too bad for me. On 3DS, I did Classic Mode on 7.5 with most characters.
