Man, Squad Strike ended up being exactly the way I wanted it to be.

And yeah, I want them to use this in competitive play SO much. This and the FS Meter.

They won't though. Because the Smash FGC is...the worst.

FS meter I can understand, because some FS' are just incredibly broken (cough cough Peach cough cough) but Squad Strike would be such a sick mode to make standard

Sounds cool on paper, but then you have stuff like this where it's just a fully charged F-Smash. I hope it's in SOME tournaments, but it isn't the best for comp prolly

FS meters shouldn't be used in competitive play though. Some FS's are straight up free kills. Have you seen Zelda's?

Yeah, but they kind of already have. The FS meter smashes are toned down, but some are still super good. I doubt they're going to work on those super good ones, because they haven't done any work on balancing final smashes before.

ehhhh.

There was a time when I would have looked forward to seeing final smashes in competitive somewhere down the line, but not anymore. Back when a lot of them required skill to reliably kill with in a 1 on 1 (keeping a rhythm with DK's, predicting movements with Snake's or ZSS's, etc.) but now that the trend has gone the other way and they're looking more like souped up versions of Mac's KO punch, I'm not feeling it at all.

Not PP but it's 100% NoJ, no questions asked. NoJ usually runs all the major stuff while NoA just handles smaller stuff like translations and western-only franchises. No doubt NoA has SOME impact, but it's mostly NoJ. If NoJ wants something done, it'll be done.

This is off-topic, but:

1. The algorithm they use is really stupid.
2. It's unnecessary censoring when tags and safe search are already available.

According to hearsay, adult content is such a hilariously large proportion of the total traffic on Tumblr that the site’s sudden and abrupt zero-tolerance policy towards it is going to lethally cripple it.

Me, I don't buy this. If nothing else, they'll still have the SJWs.

It's less the idea of adult content ending on Tumblr and more that their auto flag system is so godawful that instead of coming to fix it they just decided to ban any NSFW content outright and don't check the false flags. It's damaging to "muh porn", sure, but it's worse because as a place that has a healthy community of people often younger and marginalized it was often used as a place to show experimental art (not just pornographic) and as a whole made accessing content and sharing content accessible. The NSFW side of things also stretches to people who do NSFW stuff for a living (art, fics, photos, etc) so to just up and say "we got tired of moderating the spambots so let's just kill it all off" it shows a profound misunderstanding of what the site is actually used for.

Combine with an overzealous bot that is flagging everything from memes of aliens to dumb text posts that say The F Word to images of Ana Amari from Overwatch (because Anorexia was shortened to Ana in tags often and said tag was deemed a "nsfw" tag despite being used for support for people with eating disorders) you have a recipe for disaster. I don't know if Tumblr will truly "die" but it's a shame that they're getting a huge portion of the community to abandon ship because the mods are too lazy to deal with the spambot problem.

To some people it might seem as simple as "ha ha good riddance" but in reality losing fandom spaces can be upsetting and dangerous, especially one as tied to the convention scene as Tumblr. It's like, damn, guess it's time to find another place. But that doesn't mean it's the same. To use Smashboards as an example, if Smashboards went down tomorrow for good, sure you could find a new forum but that is literal years of history, our history as fans, gone in the blink of an eye because of an arbitrary decision, and it doesn't mean that whatever rises up to replace it will ever be the same because who knows where everyone is migrating to?

And before anyone says "we're all dust in the wind bro I'm edgy and read catcher in the rye once" yeah I know that. Everyone does. But as humans we need a place to express ourselves and our identities and our histories in those identities, as weird as that is, so to lose a pillar of that community suddenly with two weeks of warning has everyone panicking just a little.

I think the biggest appeal of Squad Strikes is attracting viewers, they would be a lot of fun to watch

"Cute Crash" literally on appears on the Japanese box-art, in-game he's the same old Crash (just like how American Kirby box art used to add "Angry Eyebrows" to make Kirby look more aggressive).

Well if they want people to use it in tournaments(and lets be real, they do, because there's no other reason to create the FS meter in the first place. They're tired of nobody who watches tournaments not getting to see the work they put in on FSs), then they need to get off their asses and balance those things!

They could go the R.O.B. route and have two defaults based on region (or in this case, language setting).

But CTTR example is a singular example in the entire series, if Activision didn't alter Crash's look for N Sane Trilogy, Sakurai probably wouldn't do it for Smash.
