because i don't want a granblue character and clearly my opinion heavily weighs into DLC picks /s

No but seriously though, I just don't think it's going to happen. I don't wanna get into another debate about Granblue, so I'll just leave it at "Mostly anything can happen".

Square Enix are one of the most inconsistent developers on the planet, i mean the amazing stuff in the FF15 trailer we saw at E3 2013 didn't even end up being in the final version of the game for christ sake!

Squeenix is truly a shell of their former selves. I think this video explains it better than I ever could.
Note the like to dislike ratio. If this video came out today, I guarantee you it wouldn't have nearly as many dislikes.

I think it's absolutely possible that the Minecraft content could just be Mii Costumes, or even as trvial as Spirits content.

The reason it hasn't been shown?

Maybe to hide any inclusion or hint of a Microsoft partnership to crank Banjo hype to 1Billion when its announced.

Or it could just be trivial content and Nintendo just didnt make it noteworthy because theyre Nintendo.

Honestly, that is a good point. We can be as optimistic or as pessimistic as we want, but in the end, we can't ever truly predict Sakurai.
In fact, for all we know, the SE character could be even more of a literally who than Geno.

That is a good point, and you're right, we can't predict Sakurai. However, my gut feeling tells me the fans would not be happy with two DLC characters from the same company. Plus, there may be other 3rd parties that want to get their character in, so why should Square Enix get special treatment and the other companies only get one character? It just doesn't seem fair

These most likely won't see usage aside from the results screen (perhaps), and maybe Spirits (also perhaps). I don't even know what these would even exist for, but they do.

We know that the characters turn into stock icons when juggles by GnW, so I was hoping Squirtle wouldn't inexplicably turn into Red for that bit. I can't wait to get these icons.

Too bad it doesn't work like in Brawl where you got to see the icon of who got KOd/who KOd you. I'd love it if there was a hidden internal counter that even changed the announcer name - like if you spent over 80% of the match as Squirtle, it'd say "Squirtle Wins!" at the end.

I like how no one realized I quoted a serial killer in that post. Granted, a fictional serial killer from a JRPG with a living bear suit and a bathhouse dungeon, but a serial killer nonetheless.

Actraiser is amazing and should have been on the SNES Classic imo. I'm not sure I'd care much for character representation, but a stage or a boss would be super hype.

Apparently, it was also spotted during a Spirits segment, so there's that at least.

I do think it's cool that they've found an interesting way to re-use the technology for 3DS Classic Mode and Wii U Smash Tour for World of Light. Rendering all that as 3D environment would've been a tall order and made something of that scale in a game like this impossible considering everything else in there. The art does look pretty nice and looks very distinctive, especially when juxtaposed with the 3D models navigating the screen. Looking forward to seeing the rest of it.

True, except I don't think non-videogame characters will ever happen, but it just wouldn't seem fair to let Square Enix get two of the five DLC characters. I'm not saying it's impossible, just unlikely since it's not fair to other developers

I would just like to take a little attention away from dlc speculation and talk about ranking the themes.
1. Brawl: by far the best
2. Melee pretty good for its time and mass improvement over the first game
3. Smash 4: Was ok, could’ve hyped me up a bit more
4. Ultimate: the latest vocal version of the theme is absolute garbage. Has no place in smash bros and I hope we are using the instrumental one. If we are I would rank this no 2
5. N64: pretty bad

The main reason why when it happened was because SE made it sound like a huge announcement when they came on stage at PSX 2014. When in reality it was just the PC port.

Is Cave Story relevant? I feel like that might be a little too niche and not well known enough. If we did get an Indie character, I think Shantae would be first up because she's one of the most popular

The Ultimate theme is performed by the singer of the japanese theme of Kirby: Right Back At Ya!

Dead Aerith: she will die in less than 5 seonds of her appearance.
Baby (megaman) X: he doesnt fight at all, good luck trying totalk down an evil jedi furry mecha

my noctis post was kinda of a joke, cause personally i don't care too much about noctis, and it wold be kinda down.
Don't get me wrong... i actully enjoyed FFXV and their 4 characters started grown to me mainly due to the stupid level of detail and work it was put between this chartacter interactions. but Prince Noctis designwise still feels slightly bland and I don't like too much noctis battle style.... is too "all over the place" if you get what I mean XD.
King noctis seems like a improvement at least by JPRG standarts, so it was like looking something good from a meh news XD.

BTW: i don't think that noctis will be revelaed though.

I know a lot of people love Brawl's theme, but I never liked it. Maybe because it wasn't rock enough for me. For me, it would be:
1. Smash 4: because I love the rock music of it
2. Melee: especially the menu 2 theme
3. Ultimate: It's okay, but I don't like it that much
4. Brawl: I don't like it at all
5. Smash 64: sounds like they're testing the equipment to make sure it works properly
