It has been a while since I posted here helping with the ESRB leak from Smash 3DS. Hi everybody

So here's something you can try with the background if you have photoshop, and understand what happens to the image because of the low quality and artifacts caused by the recording.

Let's compare the clean background with the leaked background. Look at the spots marked in red, which are (at least to me) the most suspicious spots in the image.

Now, let's apply a filter to the clean background: Filter > Noise > Median.

See what happens to the waterfalls if I increase the value of the filter:

The waterfall from the right tends to dissapear, just like in the leaked image.

And this is what happens to the castle area:

Doesn't it look a lot more like the leaked image? I just played with the "median" filter in photoshop, that's all. You can try!

So, yeah... My point is that we have been look at the same exact background all the time, but it has been severely modified because of quality and artifacts stuff. Don't forget we are looking at the screenshot of a video in motion of a draft print.

(If you want the same result, apply Median 19 for the waterfalls and Median 28 for the castle area).

Heya, just a quick small question I was sent to ask from a Discord group I belong to… does the saturation affect the crystal too? as in not being visible but clearly being there I mean, or what's your stance about the crystal.

I wouldn't be surprised if the next Direct was two hours long. It'd certainly explain why we've gotten nothing for all of October — they've been putting this mammoth info-dump together for over a month.

Yeah, I imagine that the sheer velocity of Final Smash knockback makes successfully teching them a Herculean feat of timing and reflexes.

(Wait, teching a Final Smash was actually flat-out impossible before? Not just so phenomenally difficult that it might as well be impossible?)

I don't really remember being able to tech any of them at all before. Might have been impossible.

Of the characters from that fake banner leak.. Isaac and Geno are cool, but the rest are nothing but a bunch of worthless jobbers to beat up on, and yes I would totally bury them for they are not Iconic enough to hang with The Elite.

I'm gonna be showing my age a bit here but what? Banjo-Kazooie is far from not iconic. Sure, he's not in the spotlight as other characters now but he was big and is still beloved to this day. Heck, he even appeared on the more recent N64 boxes and featured in Toys R Us and Blockbuster VHS tapes and plushies, figures and other merchandise back in the day.

I don't think anyone's saying Emily's not at /all/ reliable. She's gotten things right.
But she has gotten things wrong quite a bit as well. More than the insiders we've been depending on lately like Verge and Spawn that's for sure.

Ehhhhh. I don't know if this is revisionist history, but a lot of Smash fans forget that calling Vergeben's track record "spotty" is extremely generous. Up until Smash Ultimate, he was a joke in the FGC for all the times he got stuff wrong and kept revising his old rumors. There was a good reason a lot of people didn't trust him when he started leaking stuff for Ultimate.

I can only think of two times off the top of my head when Emily was explicitly wrong - Mother 3 (which was four years ago), and Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (where despite getting new tracks wrong, she was correct on the game's title, that it'd feature a new battle mode, and that it'd have new characters). And it's worth noting that quite a few times when she's been wrong, it wasn't just her reporting on it. People forget that Vergeben was another person who mentioned Mother 3.

Because Incineroar wasn't the most speculated Pokémon until recent months.

That's what makes the whole idea of Incineroar being chosen as bait seem strange and insulting.
If they were to pick anyone for bait, they would have gone with Decidueye, who was the most speculated Pokémon for quite some time.

I wasn't so much that Incineroar was the most speculated Pokemon in recent months. Incineroar became the ONLY speculated Pokemon in recent months.

While there was a good number of Pokemon reps being discussed prior, as soon as Verge said that the Gen 7 yep wasn't Decidueye, Mimikyu, or Lycanroc, and later on stated Incineroar specifically, all Pokemon discussion began to revolve around Incineroar.

I have been following Verge since his first leak
Not revisionist and a valid point but I think that Emily getting the title right doesn't compare to what Verge has done for Ultimate
Dude's leaked Simon, Isabelle, Ken, potentially Incineroar, unconfirmed Minecraft content, things like that
So I'm much more willing to bin Emily than Verge, but it's in relative to their participation in Ultimate leaking

Just a guess, but you're happy with the current roster?

I mean I'm happy with what we have just because of Ridley and K Rool, but I'd be disappointed with just Kencineroar left. I think regardless of the leak there's more exciting reveals to come, but assuming the leak is fake relieves the pressure I was feeling. I don't have to worry about the arguments anymore, and I can just patiently wait for Nintendo to blow me away with whatever it is they have left.

Chorus Kids should be a assist trophy because Ringside Reporter is a much better choice as a fighter, because wrestling.

Incineroar fills that role better, tho, or someone from Pro Wrestling as a retro character (imagine the narrator saying "A winner is you" instead of "X wins")
Chorus Kids are super unique.

People are expecting a Pokémon Newcomer, regardless of whether or not we actually get one.

Why not pick one that's not being discussed heavily? That way, the amount of people who are saddened by it's lack of inclusion is minimised.

Obviously, they can't just pick anyone, they have to pick someone that makes sense.

Incineroar would fit all these criteria.
(Regardless: I kind of expect Incineroar's in as DLC, if the Grinch leak is real and indicative of the final base roster).

At least 90% of the community believes in the leak at this point. There's ****tons of fanart of the Grinch leaking the roster. Pretty much everyone is certain this leak is real.
So if it turns out to be fake, I honestly don't know what's going to happen.

Not leak-related, but I saw that Bayo has a Jeanne alt, so Jeanne as an Echo is deconfirmed, at least for base game, right?

Jeanne has a 0% chance for base game imho. Not just the fact that the Jeanne alt is still present when the Dark Samus & Chrom ones got removed, but there's no way SEGA would choose giving Bayonetta a second rep over Sonic the Hedgehog.

It’s technically a 32 player Online Tournament mode, but yeah

Face guys we’re stuck with waiting till the reveal or the render of the grinch in the yellow present hanger comes out

No matter what we do it’s not getting proven fake nor real

The background for example were not getting anywhere with it almost everyone disagrees with everyone’s opinions on the comparison since the camera was in Moltion focus was horrendous lighting and blurring makes it to hard to compare

Everyone just gonna stick with one side or get convinced to the other everyone has their own opinion about something and is gonna stick with it most of the time I mean if they are wrong, they are wrong

I’m just gonna stick with it won’t be till we get the grinch present render revealed or the next reveal but I will still look at attempted evidence though

Ofcoarse sad thing is even though some of us are requesting this we still gonna get gloating from the winning team (getting “I told ya so.”)

But for me it’s a win win no matter what happens

Real: best base roster ever and Sakurai can legitimately say “never ask me for anything again.”
Fake: we can still be surprised by reveals and there’s a few characters from the grinch thing that are likely to be playable regardless (ken and shadow for example) and Sakurai didn’t fail the missing of keeping leaks at bay

I acknowledge that, and I'm not going to deny that he has had correct info for Smash. That's partially why I'm more charitable to consider what he has to say in regards to Ultimate, but people tend to forget that there was a point in time there was extremely little reason to ever trust him.

Not exactly, it's probably just Online tournament mode, but that's still pretty badass so

Needs to come back much more improved to be worth anything.

Custom tournaments would help, but having more fluid rule sets and incentives to participate would be cool. I'd love official tournaments held every now and then with a prize.

If not there's always a Battle Royale mode. Think Smash Run but more extensive.

If there's a leak bait character, someone has to take the fall.

And if you get Incineroar in the end anyway (as I think will happen), then what's really the harm in the bigger picture?
