Hopefully if we start a petition, we can convince them to patch in online support for Smash Run?

I think that it might have been cut because they would have had problems getting all of the data to stream online between up to 4 3DSs at the same time, but who knows. It's lame, but if they couldn't make it work, I can live with it.

I'm old and will not find people to smash run with IRL unless I visit my brother 3000 miles away. So this sucks. First thing about Smash 4 that I legitimately think sucks.

Well, at least it runs. I mean, just look at the train wreak Battlefield 4's online multiplayer was in or is still in.

For Fun includes all items and stage hazards, up to four players. It wouldn't be completely different imo.

Can you play with CPU's?

And that sucks but at least I'll still be able to play with my brother. I don't play fighting games online much anyways, it's too competitive for me

But regular matches are played on a much smaller stage as opposed to how large the Smash Run stage is, and with all of the enemies that are on the stage in different parts of the stage at once.

Everybody start going to Sakurai's twitter. Ask why it wasn't implemented online, then start the hate.:troll:
Seriously though, this was what was really exciting me about Smash Run. Now it is just meh.

Eh most of my Kirby Air Ride city mode play was by myself so it is like that, that's fine.

The best part of Air Ride in Smash is still very much welcome.

I think implementing something like this on wifi would be very difficult. I pretty much figured this was going to be local only anyhow.

Online Smash Run probably would've suffered from a lot of lag, so it's probably good that it's a local game mode only.

You're wrong because others don't see your Smash Run stages, you play individually and then after collecting power-ups you fight on regular stages.

Well it could have worked where players are in their own separate Smash Run areas, gain stats, and then finally connect for a battle.

Er... This doesn't rule out local multiplayer, right?

Disappointing. Online Smash run was the only reason why I would still play the 3DS version post Wii U release.

The problem is, all fighters are on the exact same arena, so interactions between players is bound to happen.

What I'm wondering is how you do local play over a wireless connection. Or is Sakurai expecting us to link our 3DS up like it's 1998 and we're trading Pokemon.

Seriously though are we going to have to use a LAN connection for local play or could someone just use one wifi network?

I see smash run as more of a local play game anyways. I would rather play it with friends right by me than online with random people

Well, I was expecting this sort of thing. The mode still seems pretty cool, though.

Sakurai on his TWITTER said it does not support online. Good grief, did no one read the link I gave?
Perhaps language issue? Maybe he thought they meant that everyone would be in one Smash Run and fight to get stats and not as in everyone's separated for the Smash Run portion before fighting each other.

I guess it was expected, not to mention doesn't matter to much for me, but it is disappointing I can't play against my fellow smash boards members.

Oh well. Like Kirby Air Ride, playing single player was more then enough.

What if nobody even has a 3DS around you?

And by the way, i don't really care. Maybe it's a language issue, or whatever. If it's local it's local. It's online then online, i'm sorry for those who really would like to play Smash Run, but it's out of my interest, not that i won't play, but i couldn't care less if it's online or local.
