Stages:

Final Destination, Battlefield, Yoshi's Story, [DK 64, Rainbow Cruise(teams only)], Dreamland 64 & Pokemon Stadium, [Fountain of Dreams (singles only)] .

Stage & Character Selection:
The stage for Game 1 will be selected at random unless both players/teams can agree on a stage. After the stage has been randomly selected each player/team may call for a reset. Each player/team can only call for a reset once during a series. If a reset is called, another stage must be randomly selected. The stage that was first selected can't be randomly selected again, but is still available for a counter pick.
No stage may be used twice in a Best of 3 or Best of 5 Series. The random select stages are the only stages that may be used more than once in a best of 11 series.
After characters have been selected for the first game, each player/team may choose to knock out one stage. Stages that are knocked out won't be used during the series. Random select stages can't be knocked out. The lower seeded player/team must make their knockout selection first. Once the first game has started, stages can't be knocked out.
After each game of a series, the player who lost the previous game may choose the stage for the next game or elect for it to be chosen randomly. After the stage has been selected, the winner of the previous game may change characters. After the winner has chosen their character, the loser of the previous game may change characters.

Other Rules & Special Issues
1. Any unnecessary pausing of the game will result in a forfeit of that single game.
2. Glitches used to stop your opponent from controlling their character or indefinitely freezing them (Mewtwo's Soul Stunner, the Ice Climber freeze glitch), or any glitch or trick that freezes the game or makes it unable to be finished are banned and will result in the immediate forfeit of the entire match.
3. Tactics such as Peach's Wallbombing and Jiggly's Rising Pound are allowed as methods of recovery or to maneuver around the stage. Using them (or any similar tactics) to excessively stall a match, such as dropping below levels intentionally and stalling underneath, is banned. If by using one of these tactics, you have put your character in a place to lose a stock by ending the tactic, a judge may force you to stop and lose a life and continue the match short a stock.

WOBBLING IS BANNED!!!!

Hope to See you There!

And if you have any questions you can call us at 757-410-9494, but if you know O-No he's probably the best source of information as he promised to oversee the proceedings. He's the best!:) And in case you didn't know, he's renting out our place for his own all night tourney lock-in this weekend. Don't miss out on that! Smash, Melee, and all other kinds of side tournaments to get involved in. I hear there will also be food ... lol ...

Save 5$ too. If I'm not broke after tommorow I'll make it out to this aswell. Is this another lock in? or during the day? or what? I didn't see a time but maybe I just overlooked it.

hahahaa it only took that long because 1) lack of setups [not the venues fault, but ours (I'll share the blame with O-NO) but at my last tournament there 10 full setups and we ran singles pools AND brackets in about 6-7 hours with 30 people.] and 2) once we got to the last two rounds [Losers Finals and Grand Finals] which was after 4 hours or something [again, setups, AND one of the people was late and I tried holding off their last match as much as possible since the guy got pulled over AND his controller got stolen out of his car at 7 Eleven because he left his window open] and we did the finals at around 7:15 AM

the only way that it would work [singles OR doubles tourney] was if we had a looooot of setups...10-15 setups.

That said, while I have a better chance at making money in teams, I'm glad we're not doing teams so we can focus on singles :)

Its Melee and Brawl Singles. I'll actually bring my Wii and GC this time with a tv approx the same size as that one C-stick brought last tourney maybe a little smaller. I haven't even unlocked all the Brawl Stages yet so I'll have to do that before I bring it.

I think Kadaj (Maverick_Ace) hit on this at some point...the name of the thread. Just so people can be more familiarized with the venue's name, maybe make the thread title "Hi Score Gaming Presents: Melee/Brawl" or if you want to emphasize O-NO's involvement, "O-NO Presents: Hi Score Gaming Presents: Melee/Brawl" haha, I mean...something that at least has the host's name or the venue's name in the title. Maybe that'll help garner attention?

Good matches everyone. :chuckle:

Shaeman: Nice Link man. I don't know what to do against projectiles.

Toasty: Nice matches, except for your suicides.

O-NO: Brawl is boring, haha.

Everyone else whose names I forgot: Fun stuff overall, I'll be sure to make it to the next event.

[edit] **** i just read that shaeman won, sweet. i love it when the guy i lose to wins.

http://smashboards.com/showthread.php?p=4749147#post4749147

full results (no characters listed though)

Hi Score: please add the link I'm posting to the first post in this thread [like, have it at/near the top and say "Results" and then the next line will be a clickable link or something for the results thread I made and it'll say "June 20th, 2008, Melee/Brawl Singles". Anything to that effect.

EDIT: For the next one (whenever that is), I'll make an announcement that people need to be there like...an hour earlier. That way everything can get set up, all the money collected and entrants put into TIO by the time the projected start time rolls around

what I mean is: last night, by the time everything got started, it was 8PM. Which is fine, but just for future reference :)
