Time for your weekly matchup chart update. After my final today I don't have another one until next Monday. Also my place of employment is shut down til January, so I'll have a lot more free time on my hands. Expect a good chunk of the chart to be done this week, if not all of it. This'll probably be the last update before the chart is finished; with winter break just around the corner (after my finals next Monday and Tuesday) the chart is going to be done sooner rather than later. It's about damn time!

Well it turns out I was totally wrong, and the "HOLIDAZE" jumped on me right after finals were over. I want to thank everyone who has been submitting votes; mostly @Incoleo, who has submitted huge amounts of votes. Seriously, without you my friend, this would not be possible. But the chart is coming. Will I just be spouting hot air and excuses, or will I actually get my **** together before we all die of old age? Stay tuned to find out!

Out of curiosity, how are you scoring matchups after tallying them? Will they remain a simple +, 0, or -, or will a true average be made?

I think tier lists should actually come sooner than a matchup chart. It's hard to know which matchups someone won a tournament due to edge and which he won due to skill, but because he won them all as a group you know they were mostly favorable and the character is good.

why not set them as lv 9 cpu's no skill involved it will be only relient on the MU

If you think human matchups and CPU matchups are anything close to the same, you're delusional.

The final results will be as a + or - only. I'm doing this for a number of reasons which will be revealed with the final chart.

This sounds really weird, i hope your not including mirror matches in this because those are obviously even matchups. I also think a lot of other match ups in this game dont heavily favour one character over another, so seems really odd there will be nothing for even match ups at all

That little factoid was just a preview, everything will be explained with the final chart, so try not to worry about it for now.

After half of an all-nighter, several grueling intimate hours with my keyboard, all characters have been tallied. Hooray!

I'll be spending the other half of the all-nighter with Irfanview and Microsoft Paint, and we should have a lovely Matchup Chart whipped up in time for breakfast.

Actually I'm using Paint.net, MS Paint was giving me some problems. XD

So it's past breakfast and it's not done...like every other step of this project, it's taking way longer than I thought. The good news is, we've got 18/54 filled in at the moment, actually. But I plan to keep working on it nonstop for as long as I can. We're close as hell people!

We are currently at 31/54 characters completed. Almost there! I'll be sleeping tonight so ideally the results thread will be posted tomorrow morning. Trust me, I want to get this thing out the door as much as you guys.

From the sneak peek it seems he's not. Specifically, what seems to be Duck Hunt vs Dr. Mario is seen as advantageous for both sides.

Either way, this is gonna be a really useful tool to see early impressions from character mains, and contribute to how we individually look at matchups we have limited personal experience with.

Well I guess once the MU opinon board is out, it will open up arguments for each disputed board for edits, and thats a good use.
