Yeah...any possibilities? I say it would be a great Thanksgiving gift to us from Nintendo :bee:

Or, they will give up a totally obscure and not critically well received game as usually despite the special occasion :/.

I don't get why people want SSB64 OFFLINE on virtual console, since they can play it ONLINE on Project64k since long time ago

I think people forget that people have friends, casual friends. 4 people around a computer is very awkward, dontcha think?

If anyone says N64 I will slap them.

Sorry, looks like your making room for another Luigi :)

And I wouldn't want to emulate it for the fact that I wouldn't want to play it on my horrible computer, would be annoying to play with with my friends bundled around a computer, and...it's illegal? I mean, I'm a bit too loyal to Nintendo so I feel bad when I rip from em like that :/

you can feel bad when nintendo decides to rerelease this with decent online. if you still feel bad because you're "ripping from them" then just buy it whenever it comes out and continue playing online. you won't be doing them any harm. not like it costs them anything to put up the ROM on their shop channel anyway.

Video game emulation is not illegal.

The ROM is though, even if you own it. The requirement is that you have ripped it yourself for it to be legal.

If you have the original game though I don't consider it "morally" wrong, which is a different thing from legality.

The ROM is not illegal if it is your ROM (i.e. you obtained it by ripping it yourself). No part of the emulation process is illegal.

The only thing that is illegal is using someone else's ROM, which I haven't heard anyone admit to doing or encouraging anyone else to do here on Smashboards. It's probably against the rules anyway.

Glad to see you're agreeing with me.

Honestly, few rips it themselves. Unless for some reason you can do it with cottonswabs or something.

I don't think it'll be released on thanksgiving.
Why would they have the US wait SO LONG when Japan has had the game since Janurary, and Europe has had it all summer?

What happened might have to do with the licensing issues with the 4kids (they don't dub Pokemon anymore remember?). :(

I can't wait to play the VC version with terrible gamecube controls and no online and no graphics hacks and no gameshark and less control schemes and...

I don't understand whats the hype about the VC USA version of smash. First off it's not going to be online to play other people around the world. It's going to be the same as the n64 version just differnet controls. Might as well just go out and find a n64 and buy the **** game off ebay or something.

My buddy has hacked his Wii ever since the Wii's came out, and he has had the n64 version of smash 64 on his Wii for like 5 months. Nothing big. Same game.

What's wrong with N64 again? Is it because of the lag? Because laggy teams matches are preeetty funny if I may say so myself :bee:

I'd say it's easier to just purchase the VC game than an actual N64+SSB64+at at least two pads, unless you wanna play alone and you should just get the emulator+rom.

I tried the Japanese VC version and the GC controller wasn't that bad, the setup was just like melee/brawl except for the C stick not doing smash attacks.
what does the dpad do?

We play all the time 4 people around a computer... we play twice a week at lunch at school, and occasionally at people's houses.

It would show that Nintendo of America still cares about us and would give us a legit and easy way of playing the game other than hax/piracy/dumping of the game.

It's good that the cartridge goes for feasible prices on ebay, but almost all of my N64 Cartridges kept dying on me(Loss of ALL saved data FTL) so I stopped playing them.
So many times I turned on the game to see Ness, Luigi, Falcon, and Puff hidden again.

I sold my N64 copy on Ebay. (Now I regret it. :/) Hopefully we'll get it eventually.
