Still doesn't excuse the fact that Other M's narrative was handled poorly.

That said, I agree with the sentiment that Samus' characterization is mostly built inside of the head of her fans.

The gameplay is very sub-par too. D-Pad in a 3D world, stiff controls, button spamming on a wiimote doesn't feel good, repetitive gameplay (shoot -> dodge -> shoot -> dodge, never get hit), missile mode is atrocious, pixel hunting. The story might be the worst aspect, but the gameplay is also one of its big problems. I didn't even think so until I played a bit of it just recently for ****s and giggles, and I was honestly shocked I didn't notice on my playthrough of it years ago.

Fair enough. I should have added that the gameplay was mediocre at best, but I can agree with all that. You pretty much highlighted Other M's other (nyuk, nyuk) issues. It's still a step up from being little more than shovelware.

But seriously, I'm not blaming Team Ninja because they didn't handle the story, but Other M's portrayal of Samus was abysmal.

Meh, I loved the gameplay to be honest... The final battle was disappointing though.

Just what we needed, Broken Mayonnaise Knight returning. Let's just hope that he has way more nerfs than just having his glide removed and Shuttle Loop crippled. :rolleyes:

I'll be honest... I didn't even realize Meta Knight was overpowered when I played Brawl. I smashed the little dude all over the place and had no trouble beating him at all, then suddenly people started talking about how overpowered he was and I was like ".... he is?"

Same, I was never particularly good at Metaknight so I wasn't even really aware of the problem with him till much later on. Then again I never reach the higher level of play in Brawl where Metaknight was apparently busted.

I don't do higher level, I just pick up a controller and play.

In other news, I may have to consider that 3DS XL bundle should it come to North America. I have been meaning to upgrade to XL since my regular 3DS is... well, a regular not XL 3DS, and the screens are scratched because of the poorly designed bottom screen plastic thing. I'm not sure I care much for the digital copy of the game since I like to physically own my games, but then again, Smash Bros IS a game I plan to play quite a bit.... I'll have to think about it.
