Even Brawl had regular Ridley along with Meta Ridley.

if we get regular Ridley in (I don't know how, playable or stage hazard for a 3DS stage or assist idk) along with Clone Ridley that would make the most sense to me, anyways.

As has been the established trend, Sakurai confirms/clarifies the role of a character (playable, AT, trophy, Pokeball, stage hazard, etc.) immediately, or soon after, their introduction -- for everyone save Ridley, apparently.

It's a bit curious. Is Sakurai simply trying to hype up (or at least allude to) Hazardley? Or could this exception to Sakurai's reveal pattern mean something more than face value allusion?

At this point, I just want clarification on his status. Which we'll get in just over a month with the Japanese launch information blowout to come.

He never mentioned her name but simply referred to her as "The goddess of light". Similar as he mentioned Ridley as "an enemy from Samus' past may appear at any moment".

The question I have is why hasn't Sakurai mentioned Ridley by name? There's no point in avoiding mentioning his name when everyone and their mother knows who's shadow it was in that direct. There's no point in teasing him as a boss again. He's already been that twice.

Sure, Ridley is Samus' most prominent enemy from her past, but he's not the only one. There's still characters like Phantoon and Nightmare, both of whom also appeared in Other M. Heck, maybe even Kraid, who knows?

And before anyone mentions "Oh, but that's where you fight Ridley in Other M, so it must be him", may I remind you that Smash doesn't exactly follow canon with its hazards? Cresselia is a hazard on Spear Pillar, where it never appears, Big Blue and Mute City still have the Blue Falcon on them if Captain Falcon is being used, Milotic appears as a hazard on N's Castle, and Yellow Devil wasn't in Mega Man 2, the game that Wily's Castle is based off of.

I doubt pyrosphere has a boss, what are those purple tubes for? They we're never present in the game and they must serve some purpose as they are on the playing field of the fighters.
