Roy does indeed have a chaingrab on certain characters. I was testing earlier at what percents it works. Forward throw and down throw can chain at low percents, up throw can chain fast fallers at low percents. I do b reversals a lot offline, but I have issues trying to do them online. And my edgeguards probably are better offline, but I'm not really a fair judge. Thanks for the advice though. I have about a week until I'll be going to my first tournament, so I'm gonna need all the training I can get.
Dthrow doesn't have a regrab to my knowledge. He can Fsmash from it if the character isn't a FFer, on a FFer it becomes a tech chase.
He can regrab almost every character once in P:M from Fthrow. Depending on DI he can continue to regrab with Fthrow on certain characters, like Sonic. Bt once they learn how to DI correctly he can't.
He can CG Fox, Wolf, and Falco from Uthrow, I forget to what precent however and I can't remember if he can do it on other FFers.
If you are trying to imrpove your Roy focus on his mobility just go into an empty stage and run around it getting a feel for his mobility and what he can do. He has a really good Dash Dance and his Wavedash is top-notch as well. You want to be crouching a lot as well, he has a really great crouch cancel with an awesome Dtilt. Learn his bread and butter combos, like SHFFL Fair > Dtilt > Fsmash and SHFFL Fair > Jab > Ftilt and Dtilt > to almost any aerial and Dair > any aerial and Uair > Fsmash (At high precents). And definitely don't be afraid to abuse Fsmash, smartly of course, as it is a really good move. Thankfully Roy doesn't have any special ATs to him and allows you to learn the basics better.
I have a question for people here.
Are there any characters that you like as a character, but don't like their playstyle in Smash?
For me, it would be Fox and Falco. I love the StarFox series, but I don't want to destroy my hands to play them, thanks.
Bowser. At least in Melee and Brawl. He's aight in Project M.
