It wasn't moving at all, honestly. Mystery Dungeon games tend to have those emotional endings, but eh. It's not a big deal.
I don't know, it could be that I replayed the game a couple times, but the ending gave me some questions (If you didn't want him/her to be sad, why not just tell them beforehand? And isn't it better that you go back to the human world? I mean Christ, the police must be searching everywhere for you. Finally, why was it that when only you defeat Dialga you go back? Unless they had some reasoning that I forgot about).

Awww.... I want to go to a tourney.... I've only been to like 3 in my whole life lol. I've always been too young so I'd have to go with my bro and his friend whenever they felt like taking me. I guess since I'm 19 I can just go on my own now. If only they had some around central VA...
You have no idea how painful it is to live in Colorado. There is absolutely Jack **** here. The only tourneys I've been to are a couple of club tourneys at my school that mean nothing, and they don't even know much about competitive play, so I naturally am the best of the bunch.

Why don't we just use Youtube instead of Twitch? More chances that people will drop by and see it than if it was on Twitch.

t a week until I'll be going to my first tournament, so I'm gonna need all the training I can get.
I have some advice, if you're heading to your first tournament.

1. Don't get discouraged when you get bodied. I wish there was an easy way to say this, but you're going to get bodied, no matter how good you are.

2. See if you can get someone to record your matches. This can seriously help, because you can watch your own matches back and see where you can improve. Treat it like you're watching someone else and critique yourself harshly.

3. If it's your first tournament, try and stick with your main. Don't go balls deep into counter-picking, because you won't have as much practice as those different characters. This isn't a practice session. These people are playing to win and will not hesitate to bring out everything against you.

But overall, enjoy it. Tourneys, while intense, are not just about sweating out a victory, they're supposed to be fun, too.
If you can take away hints and tips from people and stay positive about playing after, I'd consider that a successful tournament.

I found out that there's apparently weekly Melee/PM tournaments every Thursday about 20 minutes from my house. Next Thursday is conveniently the day before my birthday, so my mom is willing to take me. I'll probably have to sacrifice binge watching Madoka though
Have fun winning the entire tournament.

Maybe I should go to a Xanadu one day. Have alls yalls see me beat e'rebody. :awesome:
jk I suck

Play all the top players there and ask them why you lost to them. Sorry but thats how it will go. It would be the same story for me too. But at least you can try to benefit from it.

With Falco?
.........aww yea.
except I'm no good. lol. Maybe I'd play other characters depending if its Melee or P:M. If its Melee I'd primarily play as Falco. But if I'm playing against a Peach then I'd go Doc. Maybe Samus If I'm really desperate.

P:M? Same story but except I wouldn't be so reluctant. And maybe I'd play as Squirtle or Lucario too.

I'm fully expecting to get destroyed, and that is completely fine with me.

I've never thought about recording myself, but it doesn't sound like a bad idea at all. Critiquing myself harshly is a specialty of mine. When other people tell me something is fine, I'll insist they're wrong.

I only really play Roy, so only playing as Roy shouldn't be a problem.

Thanks for the advice!!

Of course. I'm going to lose so obviously I should try and get something out of it.

If I get pressured then I really don't know how to counter it. Out of Shield options are probably whats going to do it. All I can think to do is shield grab though. And then I slide across the stage and grab nothing. Then I get hit.... glad I sorted that out.

Well, if I can work out how to get PM online on the Wii working, I can probably give you a few games if you want, too?

I play a fairly large amount of characters, so I should be able to give you a fair critique of your play. Plus, I can record matches, etc.
(Link, Charizard, Snake, Olimar, Mario, Pit, Squirtle, DK)

I also know a guy that only plays Roy, so I can give you some tips that I've learned about playing AGAINST Roy and how to cover for those.

Yeah, I'd be up for a few games. Setting up online is pretty simple. There are a few threads somewhere that can help you with that.

The game's ending makes you think about the game, but the game itself doesn't let you what to do. The player's character will leave the Pokémon world just beacuse of the story and then come back after you complete the game. I don't know about defeating Dialga, but what I know is that the player comes back after they complete the game.
Indeed.. but watch Google do the same thing (muting copyrighted audio) with YT streams. :troll:
Yeah, since Google has to mess up everything they acquire. They will never change.

I know about that part. But even then, if all you're gonna do is be brought back right after an emotional goodbye, what was the point of the entire scene then?

@Kermit the Ninja

Try going here if you want to play a lot of people in P:M

http://smashboards.com/threads/wifi-friend-code-list.343645/page-574

I normally beat most of the people there. But there are a couple of people who beat me normally. At least in Falco dittos. I haven't played everyone. But the people with a rep of being good I can beat... when every fiber of my being is involved while playing..... and even then only 1/20th of the time....

Maybe they wanted the aftergame to not be part of the real story. It's probably confusing, but eh.
Mystery Dungeon games were always like this, they have that emotional ending and the after game is like saying this: "Why am I still here? Do I need to do side quests? Is this still a part of the story?".
Unless Larry Page gets replaced. :troll:
Which is what most people are hoping, I suppose. Google+ was a horrible idea to begin with, but then with the 3.0 layout (Cosmic Panda), YouTube alternatives came out of nowhere and suddenly started shutting down. Examples include:
Dexerty, VidiCast, WeSplash, Wenoo, ZippCast (for 5 times, I believe) and soon vStream.

The endgame honestly I didn't mind too much. Other than how annoying the post-game final boss was.

So? It's cold where I'm from as well, that doesn't mean much.

Who was the post-game final boss? Darkrai? If that's correct, then yeah, it was annoying. More than Dialga.
It was him.

Does anyone use Google+? lol
The best known of that alternatives list is obviously ZippCast.

Well, I suppose that means you guys are just as excited as me(or as anyone to be completely honest) about the online play of these games. The hype is real!
Oh, I'm hyped. I's pretty much the only way I can play against random strangers up here.

I live in Virginia, there's always something going on. The only problem is that I'm not interested in the competitive scene, I'm just a hardcore casual. Smash, for me at least, is more about the bringing together of not only Nintendo characters, but family and friends, and being able to beat the living snot out of each other. People who buy or play games only for the competitive scene bug me, especially due to the fact that they offhandedly brand things as broken, use tier lists to determine who's best, etc. I don't mind tier lists, but when one abides by it to a t, often times you probably aren't fully enjoying whatever game you're playing and will just be playing for empty wins. Smash is also how I met my girlfriend and one of my best friends in the entire world, so it has a special place in my heart. Once the game releases, I probably won't come around here as often, as I'll be too busy playing with my friends and cousins to care about the meta-game talk.

What if SSB4 online is bad??
Well s*** then. I'm really hoping this isn't the case for obvious reasons. I'm confident it will at the very least be acceptable, considering the Kid Icarus Uprising online was good. Plus, I feel like this is something they could, and would improve with updates if they really needed to.

If you're talking about Explorers of Time/Space/Sky, then there is no human world in those games (at least, it's not mentioned). Rather, you come from the future along with Grovyle because it's a terrible world to exist in, and defeating Dialga erases you from existence as you changed the future and no longer exist. If it wasn't for Divine Intervention, you'd be gone permanently.

But that was not the question. Sure, if it was good online, I would take it. But the answer was under the implication that it was in fact bad.
So your answer was a non-answer? :ganondorf:

I feel the same way for the most part, minus the competitive scene bugging me.
